Grabel Gets Tricky with Altman

Action was opened in middle position by Kevin Grabel to 4,500. Next to act was Brian Altman who put in a three-bet to 12,500. Grabel called.

The A♣A♥5♣ flop landed and Grabel check called a 7,500 bet from Altman.

The turn brought a 2♠ and action quickly checked through to a J♠ river. Grabel didn't take long before leading out for a single big blind to 2,000. Altman sat in the tank for a moment and eventually just called the one big blind.

Grabel tabled A♠3♠ for flopped trips and Altman mucked. Grabel scooped after some tricky river play.

Gordon Gets Past the Table Talk

There was a limp under the gun, in middle position, and from Abraham Gordon in the small blind. The big blind checked his option and they were off to a flop.

The Q♣2♦10♦ flop landed and Gordon led out for 4,000. The big blind folded and then the under the gun player verbally said "snap call" as he smiled and put in the chips. The last player folded and they were off to a 8♠ turn.

Gordon led again for 8,000. His opponent joked again saying "You're never gonna learn till you lose" as he put in the chips.

Gordon hit him back with "Fine, I check dark" as the 7♠ landed on the river. His opponent sat in the tank for a moment and checked it back.

Gordon tabled K♣Q♦ and his opponent knuckled the table as he muck. Gordon didn't get sucked into the table talk and dragged the pot.

Altman Gets There

Action was joined on a flop of 5♠2♠7♣. Brian Altman was in the big blind and checked to a player in middle position who bet 6,000. Altman called.

The 4♣ landed on the turn and Altman checked again. His opponent bet out for 10,000. Altman only thought for a moment before putting in the check-raise to 28,000. His opponent sat in the tank for about a minute before announcing he was all in. Altman snap called.

Middle position: 2♥2♦
Brian Altman: 6♣3♦

The board did not pair on the river and Altman would score the knockout and a pile of chips.

Rolfe Bets Big

There was an early position limp followed by an open to 10,500 from the cutoff. It folded to the small blind where Alexander Rolfe put in a large three-bet to 35,500. Only the cutoff called.

The 8♠J♥8♥ landed and Rolfe went into the tank for about a minute and then led big for 70,000. His opponent mucked and he dragged the pot.

Rolfe was the winner of one of PokerStars online qualifiers on PokerStars.com. He will hope to spin that small buy-in into a big payday.

Funaro Gets Aggressive in Position

Action was opened on the button to 7,000 by Frank Funaro. The small blind folded and it was on the big blind who called.

The Q♥K♣A♠ flop landed and it checked to the Funaro who continued for 5,000. The big blind called.

The 5♦ landed on the turn and action checked to Funaro who thought for a moment and then bet out for 22,000. The big blind thought it over for about two minutes before he finally tossed in his hand.

Funaro dragged the pot and continues to keep his big stack moving up.
