After just over seven hours of play Dan “monkeyman067” Sewnig is the last player standing in Event $83: $2,500 High Roller Championship $150k GTD. Sewnig bested a field of 72 entrants that generated a total prize pool of $171,000, taking home $46,154 for the win.

Sewnig came into the final table with one of the biggest stacks in play and was generally in control for most of the later stages of the tournament. Although he did find himself short-stacked a few times at the final table his opponents could not put him away. After receiving a pivotal double up during heads up play Sewnig kept the pressure on for most of the heads-up match before ultimately defeating “georgejanssen” in heads up play to secure the win.

Final Table Action

blueskyQ8 came into the final table as the smallest stack and was the first casualty, falling to Sewnig after shoving with ace-ten and failing to connect with the board while Sewnig, who had queen-jack, hit a queen. Shortly afterwards binarystar81 would be eliminated in 8th place after running ace-queen into the pocket-queens of “UnluckyClownz”.

Orlimar17 came into the final table as the chip leader and had been in the driver’s seat for much of the tournament before then, using an aggressive style to win many pots uncontested. After doubling up MartinChatwn and running an unsuccessful bluff into “georgejanssen” “Orlimar17” was left short-stacked and would ultimately run king-nine into the ace-king of lufy_boybefore bowing out in seventh place.

“UnluckyClownz” struggled to get any momentum after eliminating “binarystar81” in eighth place. After being whittled down over the course of a few hands “georgejanssen” won a preflop flip with pocket-jacks against king-queen to eliminate “UnluckyClowns” in sixth place. “georgejanssen” would then eliminate “lufy_boy” in fifth place shortly afterward after hitting a straight on the river to crack pocket-jacks.

jdrisco6 had a swingy final table session, at one point taking the chip lead at the final nine only to find themselves below the average stack not long after. They ended up running into the pocket-kings of Sewnig with pocket-sevens to lose all but one big blind. Shortly afterwards “MartinChatwn” would eliminate “jdrisco6” in fourth place after another preflop confrontation.

“MartinChatwn” would be the next to fall in third place after losing a flip with king-ten against “georgejanssen” who held pocket-eights.

Heads-Up Play would last nearly 45 minutes. “georgejanssen” began with a sizable chip lead but Sewnig quickly doubled up to bring things close to even. From there, “georgejanssen” struggled to find any momentum and was grinded down by Sewnig over a series of small pots. “georgejanssen” would fight back a few times while short-stacked before losing a preflop flip with pocket-threes against Sewnig’s king-jack.
