Palovic Sliding

Pat Pezzin opened under the gun for 343 and received calls from Dag Palovic and Alexandre "Allingomes" Gomes in the small and big blinds respectively. When the flop came down {10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, action checked to Pezzin, who bet 725. Both his opponents made the call and watched as the {9-Spades} hit the turn. All three players checked, leading to the {4-Spades} river.

Palovic took the initiative and bet 1,200, but Gomes quickly popped it to 2,980. Pezzin got out of the way and Palovic made the call, only to muck when Gomes rolled over {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for a straight. The Slovakian pro dropped to 7,557 after the hand.

Sullivan vs. Gomes

Speaking of stacked tables, we just discovered one with a plethora of big names including Tim "Calvin32" Sullivan, Alexandre "Allingomes" Gomes, Nenad "serb2127" Medic, and Team PokerStars Pros Pat Pezzin and Dag Palovic.

In a recent hand, Gomes raised to 750 after a couple players limped in, but was quickly met with a three-bet to 1,975 by Sullivan. The rest of the field cleared out, while Gomes called the additional 1,225. Both players proceeded to check the {8-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop, leading to the {4-Clubs} turn. At this point, Sullivan bet 2,150, Gomes called, and the {3-Spades} peeled off on the river.

Sullivan kept the pressure on with a 4,450 bet, which Gomes called. Sullivan rolled over {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} for a pair of jacks, but it was no good against the {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} of Gomes. The Brazilian pro chipped up to 41K on the hand.

Bergman Busts Anderson

Josh Bergman
Josh Bergman

Calvin "cal42688" Anderson opened to 345 in early position and Sami "Lrslzk" Kelopuro called on the button. Josh "JBT449" Bergman made it 1,090 to go from the small blind, resulting in Anderson shoving for 6,133. Kelopuro folded, but Bergman called immediately with {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}.

Anderson showed {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} and found no help from the {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{4-Spades} board, giving the pot to Bergman.

Monster Stack for MONSTER_DONG

There's nothing we like more than a stacked table, and one such table here in the WCOOP Main Event features Jonathan "MONSTER_DONG" Karamalikis, Jens “Jeans89” Kyllönen, and Jonathan "FatalError" Aguiar. Karamalikis is by far the biggest stack at the table, and he's been putting it to good use.

Just before the break, action folded to "römpsä" in the cutoff and he put in a raise to 345. Karamalikis decided to defend his button with a three-bet to 825, which prompted both blinds to fold. Römpsä responded by four-betting to 1,805, Karamalikis moved all in for 62,561, and römpsä was put to the test for his stack of about 9,200. After a few tense moments, römpsä sent his hand to the muck, allowing the Australian to take down the pot, increasing his stack to over 64,000.

Moutinho Triples...Then Doubles

Erika Moutinho shoved for her last 929 with {9-Spades}{7-Spades} and was called by two players.

Fortunately for Moutinho, her opponents checked down the {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} board. Moutinho tabled {9-Spades}{7-Spades} for two pair to win the pot.

Shortly thereafter, she and Eugene Katchalov were involved in a preflop raising war. The end result? Moutinho was all in for 2,727 with {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} against Katchalov's {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. The board ran out {K-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} to secure another pot for Moutinho.

Moutinho in Bad Shape

Erika Moutinho
Erika Moutinho

Erika Moutinho raised to 225 in the hijack and Eugene Katchalov popped it to 600 in the cutoff. "SoyUnCaballo" called on the button, "katsak" called in the small blind, and Moutinho four-bet to 2,750. Only Katchalov folded, landing a {7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop.

A "katsak" check led to Moutinho shoving for 11,861. "SoyUnCaballo" called all in for 10,617, "katsak" folded, and the hands were revealed.

Moutinho tabled {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades} for ace high while "SoyUnCaballo" was drawing with {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The {5-Diamonds} turn gave "SoyUnCaballo" a flush and Moutinho couldn't hit a better one as the {Q-Spades} fell to leave her very short stacked.
