Another Hit for Vogelsang

Level 5 : 80/160, 25 ante

After the hand against Thuritz, chipleader Christoph "26071985" Vogelsang just lost another big pot. This time OtB_RedBaron came out on top.

The Belgian opened under the gun to 356 and Vogelsang was the only caller. Both checked on the {4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop before the fireworks started when the {5-Hearts} landed on the turn. OtB_RedBaron placed a bet of 2,006 in a pot of only 1,127 chips and Vogelsang quickly called.

The {Q-Hearts} landed on the river and this time OtB_RedBaron made a bet of 2,004. Vogelsang called again, but was shown the bad news as his opponent tabled {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a straight.

Sizeable Pot for Thuritz

Level 5 : 80/160, 25 ante

Mikael "ChaoRen160" Thuritz opened for 300 and got called by Christoph "26071985" Vogelsang to his direct left and Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi defended his big blind.

Thuritz bet 583 on the {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop and only Vogelsang made the call. With 2,266 in the pot Thuritz overbet for 2,855 on the {J-Clubs} turn, but that didn't scare Vogelsang, who called again. But the German folded when Thuritz bet a 5,880 after the {K-Diamonds} was dealt on the river.

Continuation Bet Does the Trick for Sulsky

Level 4 : 60/120, 20 ante
Ben Sulsky
Ben Sulsky

After a raise to 360 from Mikael "ChaoRen160" Thuritz and a call from Christoph "26071985" Vogelsang, Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky put in a 3-bet to defend his big blind. He made it 1,664 to go and Vogelsang was the only caller.

On the {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} turn he made an continuation bet of 1,428 and that was enough to win the hand.

Overbet Doesn't Help Thuritz

Level 4 : 60/120, 20 ante

Mikael "ChaoRen160" Thuritz was off to a good start in this event, but is struggling a bit now. A couple of hands ago he took another sizeable hit, when a riverbluff went wrong against Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi.

Shakerchi opened for 256 from the button and Thuritz defended his big blind. He also called Shakerchi's continuation bet of 377 chips on the {6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} flop. They both checked the {Q-Diamonds} turn before Thuritz fired out an overbet of 2,280 chips into an 1,500 pot on the {8-Clubs} river.

Shakerchi quickly called and saw that Thuritz missed his flushdraw with his {k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and the 2016 SCOOP Main Event High-champion took down the pot with his {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for two pair.

Aces Give Vogelsang a Huge Pot

Level 3 : 50/100, 15 ante
Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

Christoph "26071985" Vogelsang was already up to 35,000 after winning a nice pot against Mikael "ChaoRen160" Thuritz, before he won the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

From the hijack he opened to 250, before Doug "WCG|Rider" Polk reraised to 1,050 from the small blind. The German wanted more chips in the pot and raised it up once more to 2,775 and Polk called.

After a check from Polk, Vogelsang bet 1,850 into a 6,000 pot on the {3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop. Polk called and both players checked on the {q-Clubs} turn, before Polk took a stab at the pot on the {k-Diamonds} river by betting 6,807, Vogelsang quickly called.

Polk showed {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for a complete bluff and Vogelsang's {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} were good to give him the chiplead with almost 47,000 chips.
