There have been captivating stories flying in every direction so far throughout the World Championship of Online Poker 2020, but this one, in particular, stands out.

The last time we spoke with Kevin “Care_Teddy” van Veen of the Netherlands, he had won a MicroMillions event, turning $4.40 into $30K during his debut Twitch stream.

Well, he was back on our radar late last week when he won a WCOOP side event for $2,273.12 in an $11 Showtime Hold’em 6-Max event. In terms of being an official WCOOP champion, van Veen was close but no cigar.

Aido Takes From Waigel and "flong78"

Level 13 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

"weyon" raised to 14,700 and was called by Ezequiel "eze88888" Waigel on the button for Sergio "zcedrick" Aido to three-bet to 63,000 in the big blind. Waigel called and they checked the {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop and {5-Clubs} turn. Aido bet the {k-Diamonds} river for 87,500 and picked up a call to reveal {10-Spades}{9-Spades} for kings and tens.

Waigel could not beat that and mucked as the pot was shipped to Aido. The Spanish poker pro chipped up even further without showdown when he bet the {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} river for 77,520 into 374,080, having fired three barrels. Waigel elected to fold to the second bet on the turn and "flong78" folded to the river bet.

Eliminations Before the Break

They bet the {10-Diamonds} river for 81,847 and called the all-in of "MakuFz" for 198,921 total to turn over {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, as "MakuFz" doubled with {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} for tens full of aces.

Triple Up for "mb319"; "flong78" Eliminated

Level 13 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

In four-way action to the {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop, the action checked to Ezequiel "eze88888" Waigel in the cutoff and he made it 38,467 to go. "mn319" then jammed the button for 208,938 and "flong78" shipped it in for 312,320 from under the gun, which Waigel called.

"mb319": {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
"flong78": {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Ezequiel "eze88888" Waigel: {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Waigel was on the verge of jumping above two million in chips but the {7-Hearts} turn and {6-Spades} river runout ensured the triple up of "mb319" while the side pot went to Waigel.

Schneiders Eliminated by "ForzaVaxholm"

Level 13 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Schneiders vs ForzaVaxholm
Schneiders vs ForzaVaxholm

Reduced to fewer than 12 blinds, Felix "xflixx" Schneiders moved all in from the cutoff and was called by table chip leader "ForzaVaxholm" in the big blind.

Felix "xflixx" Schneiders: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
"ForzaVaxholm": {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Only one diamond and no nine showed up on the {q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} board to send Schneiders to the rail. Fellow PokerStars ambassadors Ramon "RamonColillas" Colillas and Fintan "easywithaces" Hand have also seen their stacks cut down significantly as they dropped well below the average.
