The action kicked off with a raise to 92,000 by Mark "AceSpades11" Radoja from early position and "GaryT20" three-bet to 284,000 in the cutoff. What followed was the four-bet jam by "s0nny_bLacCk" in the small blind for 1,451,446 and Radoja folded, "GaryT20" however snap-called.

"s0nny_bLacCk": {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
"GaryT20": {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

In a clash of the best two starting hands, the aces prevailed on the {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs} board and the field was reduced to just 256 hopefuls.

Fast and MacDonnell Score Knockouts

Level 22 : 17,500/35,000, 4,500 ante
Fast busts gortsos
Fast busts gortsos

Manuel "BigFudge95" Fritz opened to 72,100 and was called by Marc "14alonso14" Macdonnell in the cutoff and the small blind. Short stack "gabsdrogba" then jammed for the last 429,001 in the big blind and Macdonell was the only one to come along when he reshoved to isolate.

"gabsdrogba": {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Marc "14alonso14" Macdonnell: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

On a board of {q-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, Macdonnell hit the two-outer on the river.

Two hands later, "gortsos" defended the big blind and check-shoved the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop for 420,788, which Dietrich "2pacnrw16" Fast as the initial raiser called.

"gortsos": {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Dietrich "2pacnrw16" Fast: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The {j-Spades} turn and {6-Spades} river ensured that the kicker played as Fast pulled some chips back.

Schneiders Scores a Double

Level 21 : 15,000/30,000, 3,750 ante
Schneiders vs PTFisherman23
Schneiders vs PTFisherman23

Felix "xflixx" Schneiders three-bet jammed a short stack with the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} and was called by the second-biggest stack on the table in "PTFisherman23" from under the gun. The Dutchman tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} and the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop made a split pot likely.

Schneiders was freerolling and indeed caught the {j-Clubs} turn and {4-Clubs} river.

WCOOP 2020: Matheus ‘MathCamillo1’ Camillo Rides Out The Storm, Wins #15-M

Level 21 : 15,000/30,000, 3,750 ante
Matheus Camillo WCOOP
Matheus Camillo WCOOP

There were just five players left near the end of Day 2 of Event #15-M of the 2020 World Championship of Online Poker at PokerStars, a $55+R no-limit hold’em eight-handed tournament.

Brazilian player Matheus “MathCamillo1” Camillo had enjoyed a great couple of days of poker to that point. He had built a big stack on Day 1, made it to the final table bubble on Day 2 where he won a big all-in, and was fifth in chips to start the FT.

A little while after that there were just five left out of 5,450 total entries (including re-entries). And coincidentally, Camillo was down to just five big blinds.

“I was just folding and hoping to find a favorable situation,” explains Camillo. “But the favorable situation never came.”

“That’s when I put on my lucky song… Snoop Dogg‘s ‘Riders on the Storm.'”

Steven "SvZff" van Zadelhoff dropped to a shorter stack and ultimately got those last blinds in out of the small blind to get called by "akayagi44" in the big blind.

The {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop provided an additional flushdraw for the Dutchman but he bricked the {6-Spades} turn and {4-Hearts} river.

WCOOP 2020 Winner Gavin “gavz101” Cochrane Offers Advice on Dealing with Downswings after “turbulent but fun” 10 Years

Level 20 : 12,500/25,000, 3,250 ante
Gavin Cochrane WCOOP
Gavin Cochrane WCOOP

Gavin “gavz101” Cochrane has been playing for over a decade, usually tearing up cash games and occasionally crossing over into the tournament arena to put a few notches on his record. Last week, he won event 26-H for $63,236k, claiming the first WCOOP win of his illustrious poker career.

Speaking of his win, Cochrane says, “It feels like it’s about time! I’ve played enough WCOOPs. I’m happy to win in 5 card PLO, as I really enjoy playing that game.”

He describes his 10+ year long poker journey as “pretty turbulent, but lots of fun.”

Cochrane was once involved in some of the most insane cash games of all time, including regular $100/$200 sessions against players such as Viktor “Isildur1” Blom. In one particularly memorable session, Cochrane came off $600k in profit against Blom. Another time, Cochrane won $150k in a single hand against Scott Palmer.

“I had quite a lot of gamble in my twenties – loved the high stakes and big swings. But I feel that urge less these days,” says Cochrane. “I still have a lot of love for the game, but I have a very different relationship with poker these days. It doesn’t consume me like it used to.”

Hungary's "xnrobix" raised to 42,000 from middle position and was called by Ezequiel "eze88888" Waigel from one seat over and "Horseman4444" in the big blind. On a flop of {q-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}, "Horseman4444" check-raised all-in for 900,463 to force our "xnrobix" as Waigel bet 89,000 and subsequently called all-in for less.

Ezequiel "eze88888" Waigel: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
"Horsman4444": {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The {2-Hearts} turn brought no help and the {8-Hearts} river ended the bid of Waigel for a second WCOOP-H Main Event title.

A raise to 42,800 by "d7o1d1s0" saw Fintan "easywithaces" Hand jam the last 318,975 in the cutoff and he was quickly called by the initial raiser.

Fintan "easywithaces" Hand: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
"d7o1d1s0": {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Hand took the lead on the {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop but it was a short-lived one as the {j-Hearts} appeared right away on the turn to restore the preflop order. A blank {4-Clubs} river brought no miracle for the PokerStars ambassador and Hand joined the rail.

Spragg Felted by "kimokh"

Spragg eliminated by kimokh
Spragg eliminated by kimokh

A raise to 44,000 by "kimokh" in the hijack saw Ben "Spraggy" Spragg three-bet jam for 245,448 in the small blind and the instant call of "kimokh" followed to set up the following showdown.

Ben "Spraggy" Spragg: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
"kimokh": {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

The {k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop was a tease for the PokerStars ambassador and he picked up further outs on the {8-Spades} turn with a gutshot. However, the {6-Hearts} river was a blank and that was it for Spragg.
