Lima Drops Lefrancois with a Monster

Level 20 : 12,500/25,000, 3,250 ante

Lucio "WizardOffAz" Lima raised to 67,750 from the small blind and Pascal "Pass_72" Lefrancois defended his big blind to see the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop.

Lima continued for 35,000, Lefrancois called and the {7-Hearts} turn hit the board.

A check from Lima saw Lefrancois bet 69,450 and Lima called, bringing down a board completing {3-Diamonds}.

Lima tapped, Lefrancois fired in 185,200 and Lima check-shoved. Lefrancois hesitated for a moment but in the end, he called for his 145,376 that he had behind, tabling {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for two pair.

Lima then showed the absolute nuts, dropping {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} on the felt to take down the pot with his quad rockets, collecting the bounty of Lefrancois.

The day began with 260 runners and it was not long before the five-hour late registration period closed, ending with 1,516 entry slips sold to create a $1,516,000 prize pool that flew on by the $1.25 million guarantee that was set. It took under an hour for the money to be reached and the 191 who made it were then guaranteed at least a min-cash worth $1,130.

Only 85 of those managed to book a ticket onto Day 2 and have all guaranteed themselves at least a $1,787 paystub. All will have their sights set on the $99,228 first-place money, along with all the juicy bounties en route to a WCOOP title.

The second day will begin tomorrow September 14, at 5:05 p.m. GMT and blinds will resume at 15,000/30,000 with a 3,750 ante. The 85 runners will not stop playing until a champion has been crowned, pulling in all the plentiful bounties for their feat.
