Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Farid Jattin

In a pot of at least 600,000 in the middle the flop read {k-Spades}{5-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. Farid Jattin checked from the small blind and, Jonathan Gilliam checked from under the gun. The turn came the {2-Spades}. Jattin bet 195,000 and Gilliam called. The river was the {6-Diamonds}. Jattin thought for several moments before making a smaller bet of 170,000. Gilliam thought it over for about 30 seconds before calling.

Jattin showed the {a-Spades}{3-Spades} and Gilliam mucked in frustration as the good size pit went over to Jattin.

PokerNews is at the 2019 Potomac Poker Open (PPO) to offer live updates from three tournaments, but those are just a few of the 14 events that played out at MGM National Harbor.

Another was Event #10: $1,125 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em, which attracted 28 players and was played in a bracket format. Only the final four would get paid, and the two players to bow out in that round were James Liddel and Khoa Luong, the latter having won Event #3: $370 5-Card PLO. Both earned $4,200 for their efforts.

The final was between Ryan Tamanini of Hanover, Pennsylvania and Maxwell Young. The former ultimately prevailed to capture the PPO title and a $12,600 first-place prize.

Jonathan Gilliam Eliminated in 12th Place ($17,748)

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Yaser Al-Keliddar raised under the gun to 125,000. Jimmy Chen called as did Farid Jattin. Jonathan Gilliam was in the big blind and shipped his stack. Al-Keliddar re-shipped his slightly larger stack which got rid of both Chen and Jattin.

The cards were on their backs as Gilliam got the bad news. His {8-}{8-} was way behind the {k-}{k-} of Al-Keliddar with only one live suit.

The board ran out {q-}{j-}{9-}{q-}{4-} and Gilliam was gone in 12th place.

Third Double for Sita

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Damon Sita shoved all in preflop and was called quickly by Dustin Semonavick. Sita was behind with the {a-Spades}{6-Hearts} against the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} of Semonavick.

The flop was {6-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. The turn put Sita ahead the unconventional way as the {6-Diamonds} peeled off and the {3-Hearts} on the river confirmed his double up.
