Csik Finds a Double-Up

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Christopher Csik
Christopher Csik

The player in the hijack limped in and the player in the cutoff raised to 6,000. Christopher Csik three-bet to 21,000, keeping 1,700 behind. The blinds and the hijack quickly folded and the cutoff called.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Spades}, the player in the cutoff check-called the 1,600 bet of Csik who now kept one chip of 100 behind.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds}, it was checked to Csik again who put in his last chip and was called.

Christopher Csik: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Cutoff: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Csik had turned the straight while his opponent had the open-ended straight draw. He just needed to avoid a queen as that would split the pot.

The river completed the board with the {6-Spades} for Csik's hand to hold and double him up.
