Lee Applies Pressure

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 0 ante
Chris Lee
Chris Lee

The player under-the-gun opened to 400 and was called by Chris Lee on the button and both blinds.

Action checked to the preflop raiser, who continued for 1,600. Lee then raised to 6,000 and it was folded back to the initial bettor, who called.

It was checked to Lee on the {2-Clubs} turn and he fired another 6,000 into the middle. His opponent folded after a bit of thought and Lee dragged the pot.

Howard up Early

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 0 ante

In a four-way limped pot on a flop of {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, Dave Howard bet 500 from the big blind and was called by one opponent on the button. Howard then check-called a 1,000 bet from his opponent on the {2-Diamonds} turn.

Both players checked on the {5-Spades} river and Howard showed {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a set of sixes. It was good against the {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} of his opponent and Howard scooped the pot.

Welcome Day 1 of Event #4: $500 5-Card Pot Limit Omaha High here at the MGM National Harbor. During the last Potomac Winter Poker Open back in 2020, the first 5-card PLO event had a $400 buy-in and saw Matthew Heniban emerge victorious after besting an 80-player field for a cool $8,840.

This time around, not only does the event feature a $500 buy-in, but $300 re-buys will available until the end of level 8. Players will begin with 30,000 in chips and will be able to re-buy should they bust for a fresh stack of 30,000. At the break after level 8, players may purchase a single or double add-on regardless of their chip count. A single add-on will be $300 for 30,000 in chips, and a double add-on will be $600 for 60,000 in chips.

Blinds will begin at 100/100 and each level will last 30 minutes for Day 1. Registration for the event will remain open until the beginning of level 9. Play will end for the day after level 19 and the surviving players will return for Day 2 on Monday, January 30 at 3 p.m. to play down to a winner. Day 2 levels will be increased to 45 minutes.
