Sandberg and Zarate Clash

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

In yesterday's $125 Survivor No-Limit Hold'em event, Oskar Sandberg and Ivan Zarate were the two competitors gunning to be chip leader for when the money bubble burst. As it turned out, Sandberg was the leader, so he won the trophy and additional $565 Main Event seat while Zarate had the bitter oh-so-close taste in his mouth.

In today's $125 Six-Max Five-Card Pot-Limit Omaha event, Zarate will have the chance at revenge with Sandberg at his table. Unfortunately for Zarate, the first clash didn't go his way.

On the {K-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop, Sandberg potted it with a bet of 2,100. Zarate called, and a third player in the hand folded. The turn was the {10-Diamonds}, and Sandberg moved all in for 4,175. Zarate called.

Sandberg had the {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, and Zarate had the {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

The river was the {J-Hearts} to give Sandberg a Broadway and double him up. Zarate was left with just over 14,000 in chips.

Welcome to the final gold trophy event of Jason Somerville's 2015 Run It Up Reno before the marquee $565 Main Event. This one is the $125 Six-Max Five-Card Pot-Limit Omaha tournament, and it should be a fun one.

Players will begin with 8,000 in tournament chips, the blind levels will last 15 minutes each, and players get not one, not two, not three, not four... but five cards. If that's not a recipe for action, we don't know what is.

Late registration and reentry will remain open through Level 8.

Action will kick off at 6 p.m. local time on the other side of the Naples Ballroom at the Peppermill Resort in Reno, Nevada. There will still be continued coverage of the $125 Thursday Thrilla No-Limit Hold'em event from the other, too, so make sure you're checking in on both.
