Play Underway

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Following a few announcements from the Tournament Director and Run It Up Reno festival host Jason Somerville, the cards are now in the air for the Tuesday Takeoff.

Few Early Exits

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Although the tournament is the early few orbits of the first level, a few players have been spotted heading to the rail after an early elimination.

With re-entries permitted, and registration open until approximately 4:20 p.m. we expect the field size to significantly grow over the next few hours.

Edwards Takes from Schoch

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

From early position, Aaron Schoch opens to 225 and Noel Edwards defends his big blind to see a {4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop.

Edwards checks and Schoch continues for 275 before Edwards check-raises to 625. Schoch pauses, and then calls as the {6-Hearts} lands on the turn and Edwards bets out 700.

Schoch calls, but when the river lands the {6-Diamonds}, he folds to Edwards' bet of 1,100.

Jared Cobb opened from under the gun to 300 only to have Jack Honor three-bet the small blind to 1,000.

Cobb called, and when the flop fell {2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, Honor bet out 1,500 with Cobb calling.

The turn of the {7-Diamonds} went check, check before Honor tossed in 5,000 when the river landed the {Q-Hearts}.

Cobb folded and Honor scooped the pot.

Gomez Rolling Over His Table Early

Level 2 : 75/150, 25 ante

Derek Gomez won two huge big pots in Level 1, the latter of which saw him bust an opponent.

First, he fired 2,300 in a blind battle on a board of {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, and his opponent called. On the {8-Hearts} river, Gomez bet 4,100 and his opponent folded.

Shortly after that, Gomez bet 400 on a {2-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop from the button, and an opponent under the gun made it 1,600 to go. Gomez called, and the {q-Hearts} peeled off. His opponent bet 2,700, and Gomez made it 6,100. The player under the gun almost beat him to the pot pushing all in for about 13,000, and Gomez snap-called.

Gomez: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Under the gun: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Gomez had his opponent drawing stone dead with the nut flush, and the {7-Clubs} was the meaningless river.

Zhang Wins Kings versus Queens

Level 2 : 75/150, 25 ante
Zhihao Zhang

Camden Dowhower opened from early position to 350 and found a caller from the player on the button before Zhihao Zhang three-bet the small blind to 1,800.

The big blind passed and Dowhower cut out a four-bet of 4,200. The button folded before Zhang announced he was all-in for slightly under 17,000. Dowhower shrugged and committed his final roughly 16,100 and the cards were tabled.

Dowhower: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Zhang: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

With Zhang in dominating shape, the dealer spread {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} board to ensure Zhang's kings held true as he virtually doubled to over 33,000 while Dowhower was eliminated.
