A player under the gun limped in, and Chad Holloway followed suit on the button. Paul Sampson in the small blind made it 75,000, and Holloway thought it over after the first player folded.
"I do have position," he mused.
"And I'm a weak player," Sampson said.
"I know better," Holloway said. "I do my research, I know you were the chip leader."
Holloway decided to call and the two saw a flop. Sampson fired 100,000, and Holloway called. The turn was an and Sampson checked. Holloway immediately moved all in. It was 525,000 effective, and Sampson tanked about three minutes.
"You look so nervous, man," he said. "Are you even breathing?"
Eventually, Sampson mucked his hand, and Holloway turned over .
A huge three-way all in saw Eric Shiarla all in for his last 174,000 against Randall Caswell and Mario Lopez who covered both.

Although Shiarla was running last, the flop thrust him into the lead, and when the turn and river landed the and , he tripled up as Caswell was eliminated and Lopez won a small side pot.
James Glen opened with a raise and Alexander Johnson moved all in for his last 40,000 next to speak with Glen calling.

With Johnson holding the advantage, the flop fell to see Glen soar ahead with two pair.
The turn of the opened back up Johnson's chances, but when the completed the board on the river, he was eliminated in 57th place and became the Run It Up Reno Main Event bubble boy.

Leading the final 136 players into Day 2 is Paul Sampson who finished 4th in the Thursday Thrilla earlier this week. Sampson would absolutely steamroll his Day 1b flight picking off bluffs and making hands as he finished as the overwhelming chip leader with 456,400 in chips; more than 200,000 then second placed Brandon Boatman who bagged 256,500.
Gary Kochalka (246,100), Robert Paul (242,000) and Reuben Moss (210,900) are the only other players who bagged over 200,000 while the likes of defending champion Nick Aguilera, WSOP bracelet winners Jason Somerville, Leo Wolpert and Chad Holloway as well as last year final tablists Jesse Capps and Kristin Kane are all making an appearance here on Day 2.
