Weinstein Knows His Nines are Doomed

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Chris Albanese, from the cutoff, and Brian Weinstein, on the big blind, got all in against each other preflop, with Weinstein having Albanese covered.

Chris Albanese: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Brian Weinstein: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

"I have no chance," said Weinstein as soon as he saw the cards turn over.

Weinstein seemed to know what was coming, as the {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} flop left him drawing to a single out. That didn't come on either the turn {k-Spades} or river {q-Spades}, and Albanese doubled up.

Kirk Can't Trap Camou, Gets a Bounty Anyways

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Philip Kirk raised to 2,000 from middle position, and Andy Camou called on the button, while the big blind committed his last 1,200 in chips.

Both live players checked the {q-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, and Kirk bet 2,000 on the {k-Clubs} turn, enough to chase out Camou.

Opponent: {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Philip Kirk: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

Kirk just had to dodge a diamond to earn the bounty with his set of aces, and he did just that on the {j-Hearts} river.

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Christopher Keller opened to 1,600 from middle position, Alan Mastic called from the hijack, and Chad Garyet called from the big blind.

Action checked to Keller on the {5-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, and he put out a bet for 2,200. Mastic called, and Garyet folded.

Keller bet 6,500 on the {7-Hearts} turn, and Mastic folded.

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Craft checked the {j-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop to Sherman, who bet 3,000. Craft check-raised all in for 9,000, and Sherman folded.

$440 Mini Main Event Champ Gribben in the House

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
John Gribben
John Gribben

“Eighty-five into thirty-thousand!” That was the exclamation of John Gribben as he hoisted the $440 Mini Main Event trophy at Run It Up Reno IX. Gribben managed to spin an $85 satellite seat into a $30,000 payday, and he's looking to continue his hot streak here in today's $235 Progressive Bounty tourney.

Our last sighting of him saw him pushing over around 7,000 chips to an opponent next door, with his {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} bested by the {k-Spades}{j-Spades} of his opponent after a {4-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} board. Gribben still has 7,000 in chips to work with after the loss.

Barnes Folds 'em All Out

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Brittney Barnes
Brittney Barnes

A player raised to 800 from under the gun, and was called by the cutoff, as well as Timothy Guilford in the small blind. Brittney Barnes three-bet to 4,500 from the big blind, chasing off the under-the-gun raiser and the cutoff. Guilford said, "I had a good hand," and flashed {k-}{j-} before folding.

"Call, y'all punks!" Barnes said with a smile, showing {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} before raking in the pot.
