While PokerNews is focused on bringing you live updates from the $600 Main Event, we also wanted to share some winner news from earlier in the Run It Up Reno IX. There have been several champions crowned at the Peppermill, and tens of thousands of dollars awarded.
For instance, in Event #6: $235 Short Deck Double Stack, 116 runners surpassed the $15K GTD by creating a $22,504 prize pool that was paid to the top 19 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Jon Turner (11th - $500), Michael Trivett (12th - $500), Sarah Sherman (16th - $400), and Austin Roberts (19th - $400).
In the end, Cory Tardy of Las Vegas, a regular at RIU Reno, finally broke through to win his first RIU trophy, good for $5,690 in prize money.
