Crowley Hates the Runout

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Jerry Mouawad
Jerry Mouawad

Joseph Crowley opened from the cutoff, Jerry Mouawad three-bet from the big blind, and Crowley called.

Mouawad bet 25,000 on the {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop, and Crowley called. Mouawad continued the aggression on the {a-Diamonds} turn, betting 50,000 and getting another call.

The river fell {a-Hearts}, and Mouawad went all in with his last 110,000.

"Sh*t," said a clearly exasperated Crowley. "What an incredibly, incredibly bad runout."

A few moments later, Crowley folded.

Fenton Put to the Test By Plusko

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Jordan Spurlin bet 35,000 from the small blind on a {10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{j-Spades} board, and DJ Fenton raised to 105,000 from the big blind. Jessica Plusko tanked for a minute from middle position before three-bet shoving for 257,000, which quickly chased out Spurlin.

"Seriously get there with your ace-queen?" Fenton asked. Plusko didn't respond. Fenton tanked for a minute himself, then folded.

Smith Gets the Best of Epic Runout, Maltese Eliminated

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Andrew Smith
Andrew Smith

Andrew Smith opened to 15,000, Tony Maltese three-bet to 50,000, and Smith called.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{a-Hearts}, Smith checked, Maltese continuation bet, and Smith went all in. Maltese called.

Tony Maltese: {a-Diamonds}{a-}
Andrew Smith: {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

Smith was on the wrong end of a set-over-set situation, and on the way towards seeing his stack severly depleted. The turn, however, put Smith back in the lead with quads, as the {2-Spades} hit the board.

Smith let out a cheer of elation upon seeing the case deuce come in, and the river fell {6-Clubs}, sending a stunned Maltese to the rail.

Sky Nets a Triple

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Marvin Sky jammed for 38,000 from middle position, and was called by Andrew Smith in the small blind and Run It Up Reno VIII Main Event runner-up Loren Klein in the big blind.

Action checked to the river of an {8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} board, where Smith check-folded to a bet of 40,000 from Klein. Klein tabled {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for a rivered pair of jacks, but Sky's {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a flush gave him a triple.
