While PokerNews is focused on bringing you live updates from the $600 Main Event, we also wanted to share some winner news from earlier in the Run It Up Reno IX. There have been several champions crowned at the Peppermill, and tens of thousands of dollars awarded.

In the $125 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament, the $5,000 guarantee was more than tripled as 172 runners created a $16,684 prize pool. That was paid out amongst the top 28 players including Jarrad Reynolds (9th - $410), Jimmy Cappucci (11th - $320), Shirin Oskooi (12th - $320), Jesse Fullen (14th - $250), Jordan Spurlin (21st - $200), and Aubrey Williams (27th - $200).

The tournament ended in heads-up deal between Iva Yoshihara and John Chorne that saw them each take home $3,115 in prize money. Meanwhile, Paul Holder finished in third place for $1,614 while Patrick Carter took fourth for $1,190.

Kade KOs Gir

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Vanessa Kade
Vanessa Kade

Chance Gir got all of his chips in on a {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, and Vanessa Kade made the call. Kade had Gir covered going to the showdown.

Chance Gir: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Vanessa Kade: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Kade was ahead but Gir was a 57 percent favorite to win with the straight flush draw and bottom pair. The turn and river ran out {5-Diamonds} and {5-Spades}, however, and Gir's Main Event run is over.

DJ Fenton jammed for 174,000 from middle position, and Alan Burgess called from the hijack.

DJ Fenton: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Alan Burgess: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Fenton's tens ended his tournament run when they failed to improve on a {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades} board, sending the pot to Burgess and his kings.

Kerstetter Climbing

Jamie Kerstetter
Jamie Kerstetter

Jamie Kerstetter opened to 35,000, and Voislav Ivanovski called in the big blind.

The flop came {j-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, and Ivanovski check-called a 26,000 bet from Kerstetter.

The turn came {10-Diamonds}, Ivanovski checked, and Kerstetter fired another barrel, putting 90,000 more in the pot.

"Ace queen?" asked Ivanovski as as he thought it over. He eventually chose to fold, and both players have upwards of 800k after the hand.
