Apostol Back in the Hunt

Level 2 : 100/200, 100 ante
Tyson Apostol
Tyson Apostol

After firing two bullets and getting knocked out on both during Day 1a play, Tyson Apostol is back in the mix on Day 1b.

"If you play enough hands, you're going to win one," said Apostol to one of his fellow players in the opening minutes of the day.

Minutes later, Apostol took his own advice and got in the mix, calling from the big blind against an open raise to 300 from Jimmy Cappucci on the cutoff, and a flat call from the player on the button.

Apostol checked the {j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Clubs} flop, and Cappucci continued for 500, with both opponents calling. All three players then checked through the {4-Hearts} turn.

The river came the {2-Hearts}, Apostol bet 1,800, and got two folds to take in the pot.

The {10-Clubs} hit the turn, and the big blind checked. Newman bet 1,800 and the big blind called.

Both players checked the {a-Clubs} river, and Newman tabled {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a rivered flush. The big blind mucked.

Level 2 : 100/200, 100 ante

Bjorn Peterson raised to 500 from the cutoff, and the button three-bet to 1,800. Peterson called.

Peterson check-called a bet of 2,500 on the {2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop, and another 3,500 on the {q-Diamonds} turn. The {7-Spades} river was checked a third time by Peterson, and the button bet 8,000. Peterson called, and after the button tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} for an unimproved Big Slick, Peterson rolled over his {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of nines and the winner.

Maeshiro Has All the Tens

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Mason Maeshiro had his last 7,500 in on a {2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop, and was at risk against an opponent next to act.

Mason Maeshiro: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {k-Spades}{8-Spades}

Maeshiro was looking to fade the flush draw and overcard of his opponent, and the {10-Hearts} turn took away some of his opponent's outs. The {10-Diamonds} river left Mashiro was quad tens, and he took down the pot and the double.

Ashley Sleeth
Ashley Sleeth

Ashley Sleeth raised to 600 from middle position, and was called by the player next to act, as well as Run It Up Reno founder Jason Somerville on the button, the small blind, and Carlos Pal in the big blind.

All five players checked through the {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop, and the {9-Clubs} hit the turn. The small blind checked, and Pal bet 2,100. Only Sleeth called.

The {9-Hearts} hit the river, and Pal checked. Sleeth bet 4,500 and Pal called. Sleeth tabled {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for queens-up, and Pal grinned and flashed the {q-Clubs} before mucking.
