Flashback: Dan Burcham Wins 2025 RPT Montana State Poker Championship

Dan Burcham
Dan Burcham

Back in April at the 2025 RPT Montana State Poker Championship, Dan Burcham claimed victory to capture his career-best score of $29,000 along with the RPT bracelet.

The ninth edition of the tournament attracted 283 entries, generating a prize pool of $148,575. Burcham defeated Andrew Hilleren in a back-and-forth heads-up match to win the title, something that meant more to him than the money.

"The money is nice, I'm not going to lie," Burcham told PokerNews following his win. "I get a lot of my self-worth from my peers thinking I did well at something. This is a lot of validation that I can hang with the best players in Montana. It means a lot to me".

Dave Ledeman raised to 175,000 in middle position and Chueyee Yang three-bet to 375,000 in the small blind. Ledeman made the call.

The flop came K83 and Yang slowed down with a check. Ledeman fired out a bet of 250,000 and Yang took some time to think through his decision before making the call.

On the 8 turn, Yang checked again and Ledeman moved all in for about 750,000 to put himself at risk. Yang snap called.

Dave Ledeman: KQ All in
Chueyee Yang: AA

Ledeman picked up a flush draw on the turn and had outs to a king or a heart but couldn't get there as the 2 landed on the river, ending his impressive tournament run.

Ledeman Wins with Big Slick

Level 24 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Anthony Lazar raised to 135,000 under the gun, Chueyee Yang flatted in middle position, and Dave Ledeman three-bet shoved on the button for 535,000 to put himself at risk. Lazar got out of the way and Yang went into the tank. Ledeman eventually called the clock and Yang flicked in the call shortly after.

Dave Ledeman: AK All in
Chueyee Yang: 66

Ledeman pulled ahead on the 9K5 flop, pairing his king. The 2 turn and 8 river offered no help to Yang and the pot was pushed Ledeman's way.
