Reading Finds the Triple Up
Joshua Karnik raised to 2,500 in the hijack, Jon Wurden flatted in the cutoff, and John Reading who won a bracelet in Event #6: $1,000 Hyper No-Limit Hold'em at the 2015 WSOP, three-bet jammed for 11,500 to put himself at risk. Both of his opponents made the call.
The flop came J♦8♥7♥ and Karnik began with a check. Wurden moved all in for 35,800 and Karnik quickly called, having Wurden covered by just 300 chips.
John Reading: 10♣9♣
Jon Wurden: A♥J♣
Joshua Karnik: K♥10♥
The turn landed the A♦ giving Wurden two pair aces and jacks. Reading flopped the nut straight and was in great position to triple up but Karnik still had a plethora of outs with both straight and flush draws.
The 3♠ rolled off on the river and Reading was awarded the main pot. Wurden's two pair was good to take the side pot, and Karnik was left on fumes.
