Day 1c of $640 Main Event is Ready to Go
It's the last chance to advance to Sunday as Day 1c of the Roughrider Poker Tour $640 Main Event is set to get underway and a massive turnout is expected. The Jackpot Junction Casino and Hotel is playing host to the lone stop in rural western Minnesota over the August long weekend while the annual rodeo takes place just down the street.
While some people will be trying to last just eight seconds on a bull, these players will need to last a little longer than that in order to reach the money and have a chance at the title. The final starting flight is expected to be the largest one yet, as players try to navigate their way to bag by the day's end.
Last night, it was a runaway train that Anthony Scarborough jumped on en route to bagging the overall chip lead thus far with 740,000 chips. A regular at the WSOP and MSPT, Scarborough's lone major victory came on the MSPT one year ago, where he claimed over $150,000. He will now be looking to add another piece of hardware to his resume with a one-of-a-kind RPT bracelet.
The cards are scheduled to go in the air at 1 p.m. CST for Day 1c with an identical structure to the opening two flights. Players will sit down to a stack of 60,000 chips with the blinds starting at 100/200 and a 200 big blind ante. The levels will be 40 minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every three levels.
The late registration period will be open through the end of level 12, or approximately 10 p.m. An unlimited number of reentries are permitted throughout that time and many players have been making full use of that option. Play will conclude when 15% of the field is reached or at the end of level 16. Making it through to Day 2 does not guarantee yourself in the money, as Day 1b finished short of the 15% threshold.
