Blackburn Sends Simon Out
Level 10
: Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Calon Blackburn limped from early position before Jason Simon shoved for his final 34,5000 from the cutoff. Blackburn made the call and put Simon at risk.
Jason Simon: 8♠8♣
Calon Blackburn: A♣Q♥
It was a classic race between the pair and the overcards. The flop favored Simon when it came 4♦9♦4♠, keeping his pocket eights in front.
The 3♣ turn was of no consequence as Simon was one card away from a crucial double.
The river had other plans as it came when the A♥ and sunk Simon as Blackburn improved to a pair of aces to claim the pot and eliminate Simon.
