Nine Ball for Heaton
Level 12
: Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Colin Heaton shoved for his final 58,500 from early position and was called by Calon Blackburn in the next seat over. Jason Rogers went all-in for 73,500 and was called by Blackburn, as Blackburn had Heaton and Rogers at risk in a three-way showdown.
Colin Heaton: 9♦9♥
Jason Rogers: Q♥Q♠
Calon Blackburn: A♦8♠
Rogers had the best of it as they went to a runout, but the flop got Heaton to stand up from his chair when it came 9♠3♥K♠ to give Heaton a set of nines and put him in a strong position for a triple-up.
The 10♣ turn gave Rogers some outs to a straight, but it was not meant to be on the 6♦ river, as Heaton scored the triple.
Rogers won the side pot to scrape together some chips, while Blackburn bore the brunt of the loss.
