Set Over Set Disaster for Mead
Level 8
: Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
The pot had been built to approximately 15,000 on the flop of [6hKh3dh] when this hand was recorded.
Mark Mead from middle position and Raul Norris from the hijack clashed in a series of raises that led to Norris going all-in. Mead called and put himself at risk for 37,000 as the pair of opponents went to a showdown.
Mark Mead: 6♦6♣
Raul Norris: K♦K♠
Mead held a strong hand with middle set, but it was terrible timing for him as Norris flopped top set, which had Mead drawing to just one out.
The 5♣ turn and the A♥ river were of no use to Mead as Norris scored the knockout.
