Welcome to Day 2 of RunGoodGear.com Downstream Casino

Michael Sanders
Michael Sanders

After two grueling Day 1 flights, a small Day 2 field of just 26 has returned to an event room at the Downstream Casino outside Joplin, Mo., for RunGoodGear.com's third tournament of the year.

Terry Presley and Ben Reason bagged identical stacks of 277,500 on their respective Day 1s, so they are the men to catch as the cards prepare to fly at 11 a.m. Other contenders include Issac Tucker, Ryan Tepen, Michael Sanders, David Murff, Chris Conrad, and Bernard Lee, though Lee is among the shortest stacks.

As Day 1a was cut down to 10 percent of its field with 30 minutes left on the clock in Level 15 (2,000/4,000/500), that's where the tournament will begin on Day 2. Whoever conquers his or her remaining opponents today will take home more than $36,000.

Lee Doubles Through Reason

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Bernard Lee
Bernard Lee

Ben Reason opened for 10,000 in middle position and was called by Terry Karn on his left. In the cutoff, Bernard Lee pushed for 48,500. Reason reshoved after the other players folded, and Karn laid down.

Reason: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Lee: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}

The board was clean for Lee: {5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

At another table, Jason Joerling was the first to bust, followed by Matthew Magee.

Tang Doubles Through Conrad

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 1,000 ante
Mike Tang
Mike Tang

Chris Conrad opened for 11,000 under the gun, and Mike Tang made it 26,500 to go from middle position. Conrad came back with 58,000 after action folded to him, and Conrad called. Conrad bet 45,000 more on the {9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop, and Tang shoved all in but was snap-called.

Conrad: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Tang: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The dealer burned and turned: {7-Spades}.

"Phew," said Tang in obvious relief. His set held on the {j-Diamonds} river.

Reason Two-Outed

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Ben Reason
Ben Reason

Michael Sanders opened for 15,000 and then called the shove of Benjamin Reason, who had 133,000 on his left.

Sanders: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Reason: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The Day 1b leader got bad news on the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop, and an {8-Hearts} turn and {a-Clubs} river didn't catch him up.

Players are on break for 10 more minutes.

Devastating Beat Bubbles Conrad

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 2,000 ante
Chris Conrad - 11th Place
Chris Conrad - 11th Place

Issac Tucker opened for 25,000 in middle position, and Chris Conrad made it 69,000 from the small blind. Mike Tang shoved all in from the big, covering both players. Tucker thought for a couple of minutes before mucking, and Conrad thought for a bit less before dropping in some chips.

Conrad: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Tang: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Tang was once again behind Conrad's overpair with sevens, and this time he didn't find a seven as the flop came {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. The {10-Hearts} turn gave him a gutshot though, and he got there with the {8-Diamonds} river.

Players are redrawing for the final table.

Ryan Tepen Eliminated in 9th Place ($3,924)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Ryan Tepen - 9th Place
Ryan Tepen - 9th Place

Mark Martin defended his big blind from a middle-position raise to 35,000 from Ryan Tepen. He checked and saw Tepen bet the same amount on the {j-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop. Martin raised to 85,000, and Tepen called. On the {6-Diamonds} turn, Martin slowed down with a check. Tepen shoved for 118,000, and Martin called after briefly thinking.

Martin: {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Tepen: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

Tepen had six outs, but the river was an {a-Clubs}, eliminating the tour pro.

Richard Moore Eliminated in 8th Place ($4,754)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Richard Moore - 8th Place
Richard Moore - 8th Place

Richard Moore shoved from late position for just 61,000, and Terry Presley called from the big blind.

Presley: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Moore: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}

The {k-Spades}{3-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop was fantastic for Moore, giving him top pair and a flush draw, and the {6-Diamonds} changed nothing. The {10-Clubs} on the river was one of Presley's three outs to a straight, though.

Terry Karn Eliminated in 7th Place ($5,659)

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 3,000 ante
Terry Karn - 7th Place
Terry Karn - 7th Place

Terry Presley limped, and Terry Karn made it 50,000. Issac Tucker called, as did Presley. Karn continuation-bet 60,000 on the {3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop, and only Presley called. Presley check-called another 70,000 on the {9-Clubs} turn, then 80,000 on the {k-Hearts} river.

Karn showed {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for an airball, and Presley had gotten lucky with {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}.

The next hand, Karn limped from early position and Justin Gardenhire made it 40,000. Karn and two others called, and the flop came {4-Spades}{j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}. Karn shoved all in for about 550,000, and Gardenhire called off his stack of 400,000 after about a minute. Mike Tang tanked awhile before folding, and the big blind quickly mucked.

Gardenhire: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Karn: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Karn didn't find his ten, as the {4-Hearts} and {8-Hearts} completed the board. Tang said he folded ace-queen.

Down to 80,000, Karn busted a few hands later.
