No Comeback for Jones

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Ryan Tepen opened for 25,000 under the gun and action folded all the way around to Kevin Jones in the big blind. He shoved all in for 38,000, and Tepen called what little more it was to him.

Tepen: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Jones: {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}

Jones was looking to hit one of his two overs, but he didn't do it on the {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop. The {4-Spades} turn was no help, and it all came down to the river for Jones. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {2-Diamonds}. Jones missed and saw his Main Event run come to an end in 21st place for $2,011.

Dinsmore Puts His Life on the Line

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Action folded to David Rockvam on the button and he opted to move all in. Jim Devaney folded the small blind, but Adam Dinsmore liked what he saw in the big and called off for 162,000.

Dinsmore: {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Rockvam: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

It was a good call by Dinsmore, but he lost the lead on the {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts} flop as Rockvam flopped two pair. Lucky for Dinsmore the dealer burned and turned the {A-Hearts} to give him back the lead with trips. The {7-Hearts} was put out on the river, and Dinsmore was shipped the double.

Nasty Turn Cripples Kerstetter

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 3,000 ante

We picked up the action with 175,000 or so already in the pot and a flop of {2-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. Local player Ryan Phan moved all in from the big blind for a little over 200K, and RunGood Ambassador Jamie Kerstetter, who barely had him covered, thought long and hard before calling from the button.

Kerstetter: {j-Spades}{9-Spades}
Phan: {7-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}

It was a good call by Kerstetter, but she was punished nonetheless as the dealer burned and turned the {7-Hearts}. Phan spiked trips and a disgusted Kerstetter sent over the vast majority of her chips after the {6-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Kerstetter was left with around 20,000 after the hand and managed to double it shortly thereafter.

Rockvam and Hebda Eliminated in Quick Succession

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 3,000 ante
Joe Hebda
Joe Hebda

After David Rockvam exited in 20th place, Day 1b chip leader and RunGood Ambassador Joe Hebda followed him out the door in 19th.

It happened when action folded to Hebda on the button and he open-jammed for nearly 290,000. The small blind folded, but chip leader James Hall looked down at a big hand in the big and made the call.

Hebda: {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Hall: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Hebda picked the wrong spot to shove, and he paid the ultimate price after the {9-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Spades}{j-Clubs} board failed to deliver salvation. Hebda will take home $2,011 for his 19th-place finish while the final 18 players, who are guaranteed at least $2,438, will now breakdown into two tables.

Scott Dasovic Eliminated in 18th Place ($2,438)

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 3,000 ante
Scott Dasovic - 18th Place
Scott Dasovic - 18th Place

Paul Ewen opened for 35,000 under the gun and Scott Dasovic defended his big blind. When the flop came down {4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}, Dasovic led out for 60,000, Ewen raised to 160,000, and Dasovic three-bet jammed for roughly 353,000. Ewen, who didn't have much more than that, made the call and Dasovic discovered he picked a bad spot.

Dasovic: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Ewen: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Dasovic was dominated, and that didn't even take into account Ewen's flush draw, which hit on the {2-Hearts} turn. The meaningless {5-Clubs} was put out on the river for good measure, and a disappointed Dasovic headed to the payout desk to collect $2,438 for his 18th-place finish.
