Troy Repp Wins RunGood Poker Series Hard Rock Tulsa ($33,998)

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Troy Repp - 1st Place
Troy Repp - 1st Place

Troy Repp dealt with some adversity heads up, but he ultimately prevailed to take down RunGood Poker Series Hard Rock Tulsa, pocketing $33,998 and a $2,000 Blaycation package to the season-ending championship in New Orleans.

The Kansas native overcame a field of 281 runners and a final table that included RunGood Pros Dan "Wretchy" Martin and Duma Lowery. All of the players who made the official final table of nine also booked packages to the RunGood Cup Championship.

Day 2 began with 64 players, including notable names who fell short of the money such as RunGood Pros Samantha Abernathy, Ben Reason, and Clint Tolbert, as well as AP Phahurat and Will Berry. The latter proved to be the bubble boy, busting out in an all-in confrontation with the ever-active Rodney Spriggs on a {3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Spades} flop when his {k-Spades}{10-Spades} did not improve against Spriggs' {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

Notables to bust in the 36 paid places included RunGood Pros Jonathan Gaviao (34th), Bryan Campanello (24th), and Ray Henson (19th). Recent HPT Kansas City champ Greg Jennings ran deep but busted in 12th. Krista Lowery nearly joined her husband at the final table but took a beat when she three-bet jacks for about a quarter of her stack and Rick Robbins flopped a set of eights to bust her in 11th.

At the final table, Matt Ellis was the unfortunate player to bubble the $2,000 packages when he ran his {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} into Jason White's {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. From there, Duma Lowery busted in a flip to his fellow RunGood Pro Martin, White then bowed out eighth, and JD Ontiveros followed him out the door in seventh.

Repp then pulled off an unlikely knockout when he opened for 75,000 during Level 23 (15,000/30,000/5,000) with the {a-Hearts}{8-Spades} and called the shove of big blind Justin Custer, who had about 375,000. Custer turned over aces but watched helplessly as Repp made a straight on the {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} board.

After busting Joseff Tittjung in fifth, Wretchy looked to be the favorite, holding a sizable stack and a big experience edge on his remaining opponents. However, he ran into a bad spot when he opened with the {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and got action from both blinds. Robbins bet out on the {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop and Wretchy shipped it with his flush draw and two overs. Robbins snap-called and turned him dead with the {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} when the {7-Hearts} fell.

Spriggs managed to double up once with a three-outer but his luck ran out when he got all in with a dominated ace a second time, sending his stack to Repp when his {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} held against {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

The heads-up battle lasted nearly two hours. Robbins began down nearly 4:1 but won with the {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} against Repp's jacks and then held with one pair against Repp's flush draw and overcard to take the lead. Repp repeatedly raked in small pots to retake the lead though. Perhaps ready to gamble late in the night, he called Robbins' overbet shove on an {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} flop with the {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and found a king on the river to make Broadway and take the win against Robbins' {10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}.

The RunGood Poker Series returns in early November for another event in its home state, this time at Downstream Casino, where PokerNews will again be handling live reporting duties.

Rick Robbins - 2nd Place
Rick Robbins - 2nd Place

Troy Repp raised on the button and Rick Robbins called. On the {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} flop, Robbins shoved all in for about 1.2 million. Repp called.

"You call, you've got me," Robbins said.

Robbins: {10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Repp: {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Robbins was actually ahead for the moment but Repp had plenty of outs. The {6-Hearts} wasn't one of them but the {k-Diamonds} was, giving him a winning straight.

Repp: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

"Here we go again," Robbins said, referencing Spriggs' earlier hit with ace-seven while dominated.

Troy Repp
Troy Repp

Troy Repp raised to 100,000 in the small blind and Rick Robbins defended. The flop was {9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts} and both checked. Repp bet 150,000 on the {j-Hearts}, and Robbins called. He bet 450,000 on the {6-Hearts} river.

"Damn my luck," Robbins groaned before tanking about three minutes. "My heart tells me to call you, my head tells me not to."

Finally, he called. Repp showed {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Robbins said he had a deuce and a heart but mucked.

Dan "Wretchy" Martin - 4th Place

Dan "Wretchy" Martin opened in the cutoff to 80,000 and both blinds called. Rick Robbins bet out an unknown amount from the big blind on the {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop, Martin announced he was all in for about 1.1 million, and Robbins snap-called after the small blind folded.

Robbins: {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Martin: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The drama was short-lived as Martin's flush draw was drawing stone dead after the {7-Hearts} turn gave Robbins a boat.

Joseff Tittjung - 5th Place
Joseff Tittjung - 5th Place

After taking a big hit to his stack with {a-Hearts}{10-} against the {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} of Rick Robbins on an {8-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} runout, Joseff Tittjung was in the big blind and defended from a 75,000 under-the-gun raise by Dan Martin. He checked dark and a {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{9-Spades} flop fell. Martin bet 75,000 and snap-called Tittjung's shoved for about 230,000.

Martin: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Tittjung: {q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

"Wretchy" was miles in front and faded the last two sixes as the {8-Clubs} turn was followed by a {3-Hearts} river.

Troy Repp opened in the cutoff to 75,000 and snap-called the shove of Justin Custer, who had 345,000 in the big blind.

Repp: {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Custer: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Repp was as crushed as possible but the {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop gave him plenty of outs and left him calling for a heart. The {6-Clubs} turn improved him even further with a straight draw. The {5-Clubs} emerged on the river, a devastating blow to Custer, eliminating him in sixth.

Jason White - 8th Place
Jason White - 8th Place

Dan Martin opened to 52,000 in middle position. Jason White shipped from the small blind for for about 350,000, and Rick Robbins leaned back and thought for a bit in the big.

"I call," he said.

Martin mucked.

Robbins: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
White: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}

"Small and red, small and red," White urged.

"Big and black," Robbins countered.

More red than black hit as {k-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flopped but it helped Robbins with a straight draw. The {j-Spades} turn left White drawing dead.
