Tepen Coolers Black

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Julian Black
Julian Black

Ryan Tepen opened under the gun to 26,000, and Julian Black was the lone caller. Tepen bet 30,000 on the {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop, and Black called. Tepen checked the {7-Diamonds} turn, and Black shoved all in for 137,000 after a couple of minutes of thought. Tepen snapped and turned over {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a boat.

"Oh my God," Black exclaimed, showing {a-}{k-}.

He still had outs but a river {4-Spades} was a blank.

Jim Pruitt Eliminated in 10th Place ($1,030)

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Jim Pruitt
Jim Pruitt

Jim Pruitt shoved for about 100,000 in early position, and Ryan Tepen called.

Tepen: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Pruitt: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The race was on but it was over quickly as the {9-}{9-}{10-} flop gave Tepen quads. The turn was a {j-}, ending all hope for Pruitt.

Andre Allen Eliminated in 8th Place ($1,595)

Andre "Aces" Allen

David Caron opened to 35,000, and both blinds called. Everyone checked the {3-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop, and Andre "Aces" Allen checked the {9-Clubs} turn. Greg Jennings pushed in 55,000, and Caron quickly folded. Allen moved all in for 102,000 more.

"I don't know that I can fold," Jennings said. "I have too many outs."

"I like hearing that," Allen said.

Jennings called with {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and he had many outs indeed against {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

The dealer burned and turned the {4-Diamonds}, completing both of Jennings' draws.

"Sorry," he said. "I just had too much equity."

Tepen Empties the Clip

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Ryan Tepen opened from early position and got a call from David Caron. Tepen bet 30,000 on the {8-Clubs}{a-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop, and Caron called. He bet 75,000 on the {q-Clubs} turn, and Caron immediately called. On the {j-Spades} river, Tepen took more time before sliding enough in to put Caron all in, about 245,000.

"Can't beat anything," Caron said. "Help on the river would have been nice."

He mucked.

Not So Covert

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Ron Covert raised to 35,000 in middle position, and Bridgette Adkins defended her big blind. She checked the {6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades}, and Covert bet 50,000. Adkins raised to 150,000, and Covert wasted no time before jamming.

"So gross," Adkins muttered. She tanked a couple of minutes and mucked.

Greg Jennings Eliminated in 7th Place ($2,033)

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Greg Jennings
Greg Jennings

Greg Jennings defended his big blind from a Ryan Tepen open and both players checked the {8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Jennings check-called 50,000 on the {k-Spades} turn, and he came out betting with 115,000 on the {5-Clubs} river. Tepen thought a bit, asked to see Jennings' stack, and moved all in. Jennings snap-called.

Tepen: {a-}{3-}
Jennings: {4-}{4-}

Tepen had spiked a straight on the river, and Jennings was done for in seventh.
