RGPS OKC Main Event: Jaymie Jordan and Mason Hinkle Finish Neck and Neck Atop 11 Players In Day 1a

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Jaymie Jordan
Jaymie Jordan

The first flight of the RunGood Poker Series $575 Main Event at Grand Casino and Resort in Shawnee, OK is over and 11 players have moved on to Day 2.

Jaymie Jordan finished the day with the chip lead (342,800) with Mason Hinkle (342,200) just behind him.

Hinkle was responsible for ending the day early when he eliminated Jason Jones on the final hand of play. Jones had kings and called Hinkle's shove. Hinkle had Big Slick and flopped an ace to send Jones to the rail.

Jordan broke 300,000 earlier in the day when he scooped a 100,00 three-way pot to eliminate both Kevin McBride and Dave Swanson. He flopped a straight and called two all-ins after Swanson check-shoved and McBride shoved over the top. McBride had a set and Swanson had the nut flush draw. Jordan faded both and stacked the chip lead, which he did not relinquish even though Hinkle made a good run at it.

This is the first-ever RGPS at Grand Casino and with two more satellites tomorrow and two starting flights remaining the Main Event prize pool is only just starting to build.

Of the 83 players who entered today, only 11 of them will move on to the Day 2 restart Sunday at noon. Dan Lowery, RGPS Tunica Main Event champion Tiffany Keathley, Michael Sanders, Pam Belot, Glenn Vermillion, and Megan Moore all queued up and failed to bag for Day 2. Several, if not all of them, are expected to take another shot in the two remaining flights.

The Day 1b flight starts at noon Saturday, followed by the Day 1c flight at 7 p.m. PokerNews will be providing updates and photos throughout the weekend as the RGPS Oklahoma City main event plays down to a winner and the RGPS Game 7 season crowns its second champion.

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Jaymie Jordan
Jaymie Jordan

The players around the table all stood up as Dave Swanson, Kevin McBride, and Jaymie Jordan were all in on the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop.

Swanson checked when the flop hit. McBride checked behind and Jordan bet 20,000.

Swanson shoved, McBride shoved, and Jordan called.

The hands:

Swanson: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
McBride: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Jordan: {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Jordan flopped a straight against the nut flush draw and a top set.

The turn was the {k-Spades} and the river was the {3-Clubs} and Jordan won the hand to break 300,000 chips and eliminate two players.

That leaves 18 players in the opening flight of the RGPS main event.

When Kevin McBride is all in he stands up and yells "Hold!" until the runout is complete and, if he wins, he says, "thank you."

He was standing and chanting, and several players in the room joined him, then cheered when he won the hand.

Sarah Renko was the player he eliminated.

"That was me everyone was cheering against," she said as she headed to the rail.

She flipped the bird to everyone on her way out with a big smile and the room erupted with laughter.

Right after that Justin Gardenhire declared all in.

He looked at McBride.

"Wait a second, he's looking. I'm not sure I want to now."

After he joked with McBride for a second, McBride folded.

Jaymie Jordan was in the small blind and called the 13,400 shove.

"Ochos!" Gardenhire yelled.

The room began to chant.

"Hold!"

"Hold!"

Getting faster and faster as the board ran out {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Gardenhire doubled up.

McBride reminded Gardenhire that he always finishes his chants with a "thank you."

"Thank you," Gardenhire said as he stacked his chips.

The board ran out {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{j-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and Henson made a straight to eliminate Hager.

The very next hand, Jimmy Voegele moved all in for 12,500 and Henson reraised to about 40,000 from the small blind. Dave Swanson folded the big blind and Voegele showed {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

RunGood Poker Series RGPS Game Seven Rings

Just a little under two hours away from the RunGood Poker Series home base in Tulsa, OK, the RGPS is having its first-ever event at Grand Casino and Resort in Shawnee, OK.

The crowd has turned out so far for the preliminary events and the $100,000 main event begins at 7 p.m. tonight. There are still satellites running today for players to get their entries for one of the two starting flights that begin Saturday.

For now, the Friday night flight will kick things off. The players will have 12 30-minute levels to book their seat into Day 2 and a chance to compete for the top prize and the championship ring.

This is the second stop on the Game 7 RGPS season and every player who wins an event this season will win a championship ring made by Signature Rings.

Several of the RunGood family and players from poker leagues and rooms around the area have made the trip and a few of those faces have already taken home their championship rings, while others have gotten painfully close.
