Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Matt Waxman

It was a busy day at the RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) “Game 7” stop at the Hard Rock Tulsa. The $675 Main Event attracted 130 entries in Flight B and an additional 131 on Flight C. Along with Flight A’s 111 runners it brought the total field up to 372 entries, which means a $223,200 prize pool is on tap. Exact payouts will be released before the start of play on Day 2, which will see 70 players return to action (18 from 1a; 22 from 1b; 30 from 1c)

Day 1b saw 22 players bag with World Series of Poker bracelet winner Matt Waxman and his stack of 341,500 leading the pack. That is a good deal ahead of Day 1a chip leader Justin Gardenhire, who made it through with 289,000. Meanwhile, 30 players advanced from Flight C with Jason Smith and his stack of 245,500 out in front.

Others to survive Saturday’s flights were Bernard Lee (261,000), RGPS Game 7 Downstream champ Greg Jennings (172,500), RGPS Hard Rock Tulsa Deepstack champ Daniel Lowery (162,000), Cash Carpenter (115,500), Grant Hinkle (115,000), Mark Lafata (101,000), “Boston” Rob Mariano (97,000) Brent Harrington (55,000), and vlogger Johnnie Moreno (32,500).

Among those to fall on Saturday were Sandra Main, Barbara Sargent, Will Berry, Papa Karn, Roger Eggers, Ryan Bevenue, Chris Conrad, Don Hitt, Danny Griffith, Jamie Strickland, Mark Burgess, Sarah Renko, and Ira Lampley.

PokerNews will continue its coverage of the $675 Main Event at noon local time on Sunday. The field will play down to a winner and we’ll be there every step of the way, so be sure to join us then.

Hitt Up Against Flopped Quads But Still Drawing Live

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Patrick Dorothy
Patrick Dorothy

We happened upon the action on a {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop after Don Hitt got his last approximately 40,000 all in against Patrick Dorothy.

Patrick Dorothy: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Don Hitt: {5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

Dorothy had flopped quad fours but Hitt was drawing live to an up-and-down straight flush draw. He was looking for either the deuce or six of diamonds, but it wasn't meant to be as the {k-Clubs} bricked on the turn followed by the {2-Spades} on the river.

Hitt & Run on Papa Karn

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Papa Karn
Papa Karn

Papa Karn got his last 15,000 all in preflop and was racing for his tournament life against Don Hitt.

Don Hitt: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Papa Karn: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Papa Karn was just looking to hold to double, but that proved easier to said than done as the board ran out {3-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} to give Hitt a winning two pair.

"I'll Call You All In"

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Sergio Ramirez
Sergio Ramirez

The under-the-gun player opened big for 2,200 and Sergio Ramirez three-bet to 8,300 from late position. Tiffany Keathley was in the big blind and said, "I'll call you all in."

Keathley had intended to raise, but because of the way she said it the floor ruled that it was just a call. The original raiser then got out of the way and it was heads-up action to the {7-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. Keathley then moved all in and Ramirez called off for his last 8,000.

Tiffany Keathley: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Sergio Ramirez: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Both players had flopped top pair but Ramirez's kicker was best. The {q-Hearts} turn gave Keathley some added outs but she missed when the {5-Spades} bricked on the river.

Day 1b of the RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) “Game 7” stop at the Hard Rock Tulsa attracted 130 runners, which along with Day 1a’s 111 brought the total field up to 241 with 1c still to go tonight.

After a dozen levels of play, 22 players bagged on Day 1b with World Series of Poker bracelet winner Matt Waxman and his stack of 341,500 leading the pack. That is a good deal ahead of Day 1a chip leader Justin Gardenhire, who made it through with 289,000.

Others to survive Saturday’s early flight were Bernard Lee (261,000), RGPS Game 7 Downstream champ Greg Jennings (172,500), RGPS Hard Rock Tulsa Deepstack champ Daniel Lowery (162,000), Cash Carpenter (115,500), Mark Lafata (101,000), Brent Harrington (55,000), and vlogger Johnnie Moreno (32,500)

Wu Busted While Waxman Gets Lucky to More than Double

Tricia Wu
Tricia Wu

We picked up the action on a {5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} flop with a good amount of chips already in the middle. It appeared as if Matt Waxman had checked from the small blind and Tricia Wu did the same from the big. Bob Mather bet 7,000 from middle position and Waxman called.

Wu then woke up with an all-in check-raise for 18,700 more and Mather jammed over the top. Waxman, who had 27,800 on top of Wu's shove thought long and hard before calling off.

Tricia Wu: {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Bob Mather: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Matt Waxman: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Wu was on the nut flush draw, Waxman had top pair, and Mather was out in front with the pocket kings.

The {10-Hearts} turn was of no consequence, but the {q-Spades} river was as Waxman tripped up to steal the big pot and send Wu to the rail.

Harrington Crowns Sargent

Barbara Sargent
Barbara Sargent

Barbara Sargent opened for 1,400 from middle position and Brent Harrington responded with a three-bet to 2,800 from the button. Both blinds folded, Sargent jammed for 15,000 more, and Harrington called.

Barbara Sargent: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Brent Harrington: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Sargent's best chance of staying alive was to catch an ace, but there wasn't one on the {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop. The {q-Diamonds} turn gave her a bunch of diamond flush outs, but the {5-Clubs} river was not one of them. With that, Harrington sent Sargent to the rail.

The RunGood Poker Series "Game 7" season continues today with two more flights in the $675 buy-in, $100K GTD Main Event from Hard Rock Tulsa. Day 1b will get underway at noon local time with Flight C to follow at 7 p.m. The surviving players from each flight will then return at noon on Sunday to play down to a winner.

Players start with 20,000 starting chips and will play 12 30-minute levels in their opening flight before bagging for Day 2. Levels will increase to 45 minutes on Day 2 before going up to one hour once the final table is reached.

Friday's Day 1a attracted 111 runners, but after 12 levels of play, just 19 remained. Leading the pack with 289,000 is Justin Gardenhire. Others to bag big stacks were Montana Bills (273,000), Keith Ferrera (191,500), Jared Ward (157,000), and Blair Hinkle (156,500), who round out the top five.

This season at the RGPS is "Championship Ring" season and each winner of an RGPS event will win a Signature Championship Ring. The stop has already minted new ring winners in Brent Harrington, Chad Holloway, Katerina Lukina, Justin Gardenhire, and Daniel Lowery. We'll be bringing you mini-recaps of those tournaments here in the blog throughout the night.

The last time the RGPS visited the venue was back in May, which is when Blair Hinkle topped a 313-entry field to win the tournament for $35,985 and his first RGPS Main Event title. He's since added two more to his poker resume. Hinkle is expected to be in attendance to attempt a title defense. Others expected to fire are Survivor's "Boston" Rob Mariano, Lexy Gavin, Bob Mather, Matt Waxman, and Bernard Lee.

You can catch all the updates and photos for the entire event here on PokerNews.com. The action begins in an hour, so stay tuned.
