Final Table Recap
The first casualty of the final table was Jacob Ristich when he four-bet moved all-in with pocket queens only to get snapped by the pocket aces of Timothy “T.K.” Miles. Ristich collected $11,117 for his ninth place finish.

The following player to be eliminated was Leroy Grant who moved all-in with ace-queen on cutoff and was snapped off by Gretzfield with pocket tens. No ace or queen could be found on the runout of the board and Grant collected his eighth place winnings of $14,827.

Start of day chip leader Kevin Blewitt could not get much going at the final table and he found himself all-in and at risk against Jason Wandling with nine-seven against ace-ten. No improvement was given and Blewitt was ousted in seventh place for $18,595.

Day 1a chip leader Matthew Lambrecht found himself eliminated in sixth place for $22,600 when he got in ace-jack versus Miles’ ace-ten only for Miles to hit three tens on the runout, giving him the chip lead.

Miles’ chip lead was not to last though, as through a series of double ups and massive chip exchanges, Miles found himself all in with ace-king of hearts against the pocket queens of Wandling. No ace, king, or heart flush was able to appear on the ten high runout and last year's runner-up finisher found his run coming to an end in fifth place for $27,607.

The remaining four players came back today at 2 PM with blinds at 150,000/300,000 and a deal was made rather quickly to guarantee everyone $65,000, leaving the winner to take home $80,268 and the Pro-Am seat.

Start of Day Chip Leader Matthew Bretzfield saw his hopes dashed when after doubling up Grechnikov, he moved in his remaining five big blinds from the button with eight five suited against Grechnikov in the small blind who called with queen jack suited. The board ran out jack high and Bretzfield took home $65,000.

WPT Sochi Champion Denys Shafikov saw an early double to put himself at the top of the chip counts, but lost a big pot against Grechnikov when his ace-queen lost to ace-two. He was left with two big blinds and could not improve his eight-seven against Jason Wandling’s ace-six and Shafikov finished in third place for $65,000.

Heads up saw Grechnikov come in with the lead, but Wandling doubled up quickly when Grechnikov’s open ended straight draw did not improve against the top pair of Wandling. Afterwards when stacks evened out, both players got it in. Grechnikov held pocket tens and Wandling held ace-queen. The board ran out seven high and Wandling shook hands as the runner-up finisher.

239Jacob Ristich $11,117

Sitting with the chip lead at the moment is Matthew Bretzfield who holds 5,900,000 for just under 15 big blinds. Bretzfield had a swingy final few levels, dipping below a million a few times with two tables remaining, but went on a late night heater that included doubling through Timothy “T.K” Miles with king-jack versus ace-six key pot at the final table.

Sitting at the final table as well is Day 1c chip leaderVladimir Grechnikov with 4,750,000 in chips for just under 12 big blinds. Grechnikov came in as one of the big stacks of the day and steadily amassed as the day continued on. Throughout the majority of the final table he held the chip lead and until the end of the night when he lost a big pot to Bretzfield for 4 million chips.

WPT Sochi winner Denys Shafikov comes into the day with 4,700,000 for just under 12 big blinds. Throughout most of the day Shafikov was the chip leader and he secured that position when he knocked out PokerGO commentator Jeff Platt with pocket kings versus Platt’s ace-king. Fighting back from the short stack at the final table, he was all-in and at risk for his stack with only a straight draw, but a completion on the river and he was able to survive and end the day just behind second in chips.

Jason Wandling bagged the short stack today with 2,950,000 for just over 7 big blinds. Wandling found himself on the shorter end of the spectrum when the final table began, but through various hands including knocking out Timothy “T.K” Miles in a flip and a fortunate double up through Denys Shafikov with a king-seven versus ace-jack, he managed to remain in contention for the title.

Other tables who made the final table, but could not make it to today included Jacob Ristich,Leroy Grant, Kevin Blewitt, Matthew Lambrecht, and last years runner up Timothy Miles.

The players will return tomorrow at 2 PM with the levels coming back at 150,000/300,000 and lasting 40-minutes long each. With only 45 big blinds in play, it is uncertain as to what the length of this final table will be.

Stay tuned to Pokernews for updates throughout Day 3 and down to the eventual winner.
