For the second time this year, RunGood Poker Series has found its way to The Horseshoe Casino and Hotel in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After a successful week of preliminary events, that saw six rings given and one PokerGo pro-am seat, the culminating event kicks off its second day at 12 p.m.
Players will begin the tournament with 30,000 chips with levels beginning at 100/200 and a 200 big blind ante. Levels will escalate once every 30 minutes, with a 10-minute break occurring every four levels. Players will have the option to enter in as many times as they wish in the first eight levels of the tournament.
Play will continue until the field plays down 12.5%, then the remaining players will bag up for Sunday October 23rd where they will all be in the money. Players who do not bag on this flight, will be able to play the second flight today that begins at 6 p.m. and the following two flights on Saturday, October 22nd.
This February’s RGPS in Council Bluffs saw the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool quadruple to $413,840 as 813 entrants made their way out to play the main event. After an even chop four-ways, Dakotah O’Dell took home the trophy and $48,771 for his victory. This time around, the buy-in of $600 boasts a guarantee of $200,000, which it is expected to surpass.

Many players have been spotted playing the other events this week, including Duster Ellis, Ryan Phan, Brian Frenzel, WSOP bracelet winners Blair Hinkle and Grant Hinkle. Many more are expected to make appearances in this event and add RGPS rings to their resumes.

A player in first position raised to 400 and was called by three players, including Jeff Tebben from the cutoff.
The flop of saw the big blind check, and the initial raiser bet 1,100. Tebben raised to 3,000, clearing out all of the other players and the initial better called.
The turn of saw action check to Tebben who bet 4,500 and the under the gun player called.
The under the gun player checked the river and Tebben sized up to 10,000 which saw the opponent call and both players turned up their hands.
The under the gun player turned over for kings-up, but it was no good against Jeff Tebben's for flopped bottom set and the WSOP bracelet winner took down a sizable early pot.

Action was picked up on the turn in a pot worth 7,600 between Michael Basch in the cutoff and another player in late position.
The board read and action checked to Basch who bet 3,000 and his opponent called.
The river brought the and action checked through with Basch turning over for a king-high straight. His opponent flashed before sending it into the muck, giving Basch the pot.

The flop of saw the big blind check, and the initial raiser bet 1,000 which only Ramsdell called.
The turn of saw the initial raiser bet 2,500 which Ramsdell called once more.
On the river, Ramsdell was faced with a bet of 6,000 from his opponent. "Well my hand improved, I'm just not sure what to do. He pondered his decision a little bet longer and he ended up tossing in the call. His opponent turned over for a pair of sevens and Ramsdell turned over for a pair of nines to take down the pot.

Action was picked up on the flop between Michael Miller in early position and Russ Thomas in middle position, with 2,200 in the center.
The flop came out and Miller led out for 1,600 which Thomas called.
Miller sized up to 2,700 on the and Thomas called once more.
The river saw the land and Miller bet 8,000 which sent Thomas into the tank. After some time he put in the chips to call and Miller said "I missed my diamonds," while turning over . Thomas turned over for a pair of fives and took down the pot.
