Second Flight Of The 2022 RunGood Poker Series Contenders Tour Council $600 Main Event Begins Tonight

The second of four flights for the RGPS $600 Main Event begins at 6 p.m. at Horseshoe Casino and Hotel in Council Bluffs Iowa. This is the second opportunity that the players have to secure a seat to Day 2 of this $200,000 guaranteed tournament. Only 12.5% of the field will be able to get a seat to battle it out for the coveted title on October 23rd.

Players will begin the tournament with 30,000 chips with levels beginning at 100/200 and a 200 big blind ante. Levels will escalate once every 30 minutes, with a 10-minute break occurring every four levels. Players will have the option to enter in as many times as they wish in the first eight levels of the tournament.

RGPS ring winner Derick Plumage is the overwhelming chip leader, coming back to Day 2 with 670,000. Stephen Moy and Olufemi Banwo round off the podium with 369,500 and 362,000 respectively. Players expected to appear in this flight include Ryan Phan, Kevin Berthelsen, Ha Nguyen, Grant Hinkle and Blair Hinkle.

The second event of the RunGood Poker Series Council Bluffs, occurred on Tuesday October 18th at 7:00 pm at Horseshoe Tunica Hotel and Casino. Event #2: $200 Guest Bounty saw a total of 130 entrants creating a prizepool of $22,080, with the opportunity to win other prizes if they knocked out certain guest players. Some of the special guests included; Grant Hinkle, Blair Hinkle, Duster Ellis and Bernard Lee.

The players started with 10,000 in chips, with blinds lasting 20 minutes each. A total of 18 players secured themselves a minimum of $404.

Guest bounty Brian Frenzel took down the title once more for his second RGPS guest bounty win at Council Bluffs, repeating the feat after winning it just earlier this year. The RunGood regular, who also final tabled the Pro-Am in the winter, won a second ring, adding himself to the shortlist of RGPS two time ring winners, and even shorter list of defending champions. He took home $6,172 for his victory.
