The RGPS Main Event is underway, but champions have already been crowned in some of the other events from this series.

Daniel “DJ” Hughes took down Event #1: $135 Ambassador Bomb Pot Bounty for $5,655. He defeated a field of 250 players to kick off the series.

Meanwhile, in Event #2: $255 RunGood Fifty Five $55,000 GTD, it was Forrest Kollar who defeated a field of 437 players to take down the top prize of $18,555.

In Event #3: $300 PLO, it was Keith Hudson claiming victory for $5,000 after conquering a field of 75 players.

Abraham Scores KO's in Back-to-Back Hands

Martin Abraham just picked up a pair of knockouts in consecutive hands.

First, Abraham bet 15,000 into a pot of 19,800 on the flop , and Forrest Kollar, who won Event #2 $255 RunGood Fifty Five $55,000 GTD of this series shoved all in for 51,600 total.

Abraham went deep into the tank counting out chips. He eventually declared a call and Kollar was at risk.

Singh Puts Berto to the Test

New Main Event Record for RunGood Poker Series

A record was broken this weekend at the RunGood Poker Series main event from Thunder Valley Casino Resort.

After three starting flights, there were 890 entries in the Main Event. This breaks the previous record of 851 entries in Omaha, Nebraska at the Horseshoe Council Bluffs stop in June of 2021.

The field also smashed the $200,000 guarntee, generating a prize pool of $445,000.

There will be 112 players paid and first place will take home $77,400.

Massive Pot Goes to Rusnak

Multiple players stood up from table 16 to watch a huge three-way all in taking place.

The board was reading and Paul Castro had both Michael Rusnak and a player in seat five at risk.

Rusnak was ahead with pocket aces but he needed to dodge the flush and straight draws from his opponents.

The turn brought the and the river was as Rusnak held for the huge double. Seat five was eliminated and Castro was left with 7,500 in chips.

Castro did manage to double up the next hand through Rusnak to get back to 16,500.
