McEwen Showers One With Queens

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Preston McEwen
Preston McEwen

All of the chips went into the middle preflop with an under-the-gun player at risk for his last 21,500 against RunGood Ambassador Preston McEwen.

All-In Player: {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
McEwen: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

McEwen got a dream flop of {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, hitting top set against top two pair and leaving his opponent in need of perfect running cards to quads to stay alive. The turn {5-Spades} made the improbable impossible, with the river {7-Hearts} falling behind to complete the runout and bring McEwen above 80K with the pot and the knockout.

Stanford Over 300K

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

After being the largest stack in the room throughout the majority of the evening, Cody Stanford was just seen having built that stack to over 300K and confirmed the details of his recent addition.

According to Stanford, he opened with {k-}{k-} and saw RunGood Ambassador Julie Cornelius re-jam with {10-}{10-}. Cornelius was drawing dead by the turn of a runout {8-}{3-}{2-}{k-}{7-}, and Stanford has increased his chip lead with well under an hour of play remaining in the night.

Karn Adds To His Stack

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Action was heads up between Papa Karn in the big blind and an opponent in the cutoff, with Karn firing 8,600 on a flop of {j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades} and receiving a call. Karn fired again on the turn {6-Clubs} for 10,000 and his opponent called once more.

The river fell {q-Spades} and Karn postured for a bit, eventually stacking up 43,000 and sending toppling over onto the felt. His opponent thought for a while and let his hand go.

"I guess your ace-king is good," said the player. Karn shook his head no, implying he did not have ace-king, and stacked his newly earned chips to bring him up to

Carter Hooks an Opponent

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

A player under the gun raised to 5,000 with 21,600 to start the hand and received calls from middle position and the cutoff before JW Carter three-bet to 25,000 in the small blind. The original raiser called all in and both other players folded.

All-In Player: {9-Spades}{7-Spades}
Carter: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The all-in player found some help on the flop {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades}, but his open-ended straight draw was left hanging as the turn {k-Clubs} and river {10-Spades} completed the runout to earn Carter the pot and the knockout.

Cartwright Notches a Knockout Before Bagging

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Kyle Cartwright
Kyle Cartwright

With less than 20 minutes of play left in the night, RunGood Ambassador Daniel Lowery opened to 6,000 in early position and saw the cutoff re-jam for around 42,000. Kyle Cartwright was next to act on the button and also announced he was all in, forcing all remaining players out of the hand.

All-In Player: {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Cartwright: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Cartwright flopped top pair, top kicker on {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, but the turn {6-Hearts} gave him four outs to sweat to a backdoor gutter. Such a draw did not complete on the river {3-Spades} and he reached over and took his opponent's stack, adding it to his own and bringing him up to above 150K.

Phan Culls the Field By One

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

A player was just seen making his way from Table 19 as Donnie Phan was stacking chips from earning the pot that sent the player packing. Tablemate Michael Sanders filled in the action, saying that Phan opened under the gun and saw the player re-jam for around 35,000. Phan made the call when action was back on him.

All-In Player: {a-}{2-} (offsuit)
Phan: {5-}{5-}

"They held," said Sanders of Phan's fives, and Phan now looks to put more than 200K into a bag in the coming minutes.
