Thomas Morris Eliminated in 9th Place ($13,740)

Level 30 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Thomas Morris
Thomas Morris

Short-stacked Thomas Morris moved all in preflop for around 1,200,000 and Hong Moon made the call to put him at risk while the other players got out of the way.

Thomas Morris: AJ
Hong Moon: AQ

Morris needed some help to catch up to Moon's superior holding, but the flop of Q1010 gave Moon an even bigger advantage with queens and tens. Morris could now only hit running jacks or a king for a straight to win, but the runout of 77 did not do it and he was eliminated in ninth place as the first final-table casualty.

Wise Words from Rudd

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

On a heads-up completed board of QJ88Q, the pot was already swelled to 310,000 when Thomas Morris set out a bet of 75,000 after a check from Christopher Rudd.

Rudd then went into the tank for a good 20 seconds before he made the call, but was then shown 78 by Morris for a full house.

"Aghh!" Rudd sighed as he tossed his cards into the muck to award Morris the large pot.

Left with only 135,000, Rudd then got it all in the very next hand with 99 against the AJ of Miralem Mujkic. Unfortunately, the board ran out 34572 to give Mujkic the wheel straight on the river and Rudd was eliminated.

"Well, I play good until I don't," he said as he made his way to the payout desk.
