Bronshtein Gets it Through

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Yuval Bronshtein
Yuval Bronshtein

In a heads-up pot between Yuaval Bronshtein and Lan Vo, the flop read {2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{6-Spades} when Bronshtein slid 36,000 into the pot.

After some thought, Vo made the call and the two saw the {2-Spades} plop down on the turn.

Bronshtein then kept uo the aggression and fired a bet of 88,0000, which sent Vo deep into the tank.

After at least three minutes of deliberation, Vo finally slid his cards into the muck, at which point Bronshtein showed {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a ten-high bluff.

"Gamble gamble!" he announced as he raked in the pot to put his stack over half a million.

'Mr. Aces' Strikes Again

Level 19 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

On a heads-up flop of {2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades}, Ronald Slucker checked it to Bradley Beetz, who made it 24,000 to go. Then Slucker decided to put in a check-raise to 60,000, which Beetz called.

The turn came out the {a-Hearts} and this time Slucker led out for 40,000 but was then raised to 130,000 by Beetz. After some time in the tank, Slucker made the call and the two went to the river {6-Diamonds}.

Slucker decided to lead out again, this time announcing a bet of 100,000, which Beetz just called after pausing for just a second.

"We got 'em again, baby!" Slucker shouted as he proudly flipped over {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for top set of aces while Beetz flashed {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for top-two pair, a brutal cooler.

According to the table, that is the third time in five hands that Slucker has picked up aces, so he has now been dubbed 'Mr. Aces'.

Sumner Shoots to the Top

Jack Sumner

On a heads-up board of {2-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}, a massive pot was building between Jack Sumner and Ronald Slucker. It was Sumner's turn to act, and he pushed the rest of his stack of 420,000 into the pot of 600,000. Slucker then went deep into the tank to consider his options.

"I've got like 16 outs," he said after a minute or so of deliberation, alluding to the fact that he had the ace of spades in his hand.

"Ok, I call," Slucker said as he set out the chips and the card were then tabled, with Sumber at risk.

Jack Sumner: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Ronald Slucker: {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Sumner was ahead with his pair of tens, but still needed to fade any spade that would give Slucker the win or a deuce for a chop.
Fortunately for him, the river came a brick {k-Clubs} and Sumner let out a huge sigh of relief as he was pushed the massive pot. Sumner started the day with only 185,000 and has now rocketed all the way up to 1,550,000.

River Saves Appleyard

Kevin Appleyard
Kevin Appleyard

Jack Sumner opened to 65,000 under-the-gun and Kevin Appleyard defended from the big blind.

The flop came out {2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Appleyard bet 55,000 and Sumner called to see the {k-Hearts} on the turn.

Appleyard then shoved all in for around 400,000 and Sumner snap-called to put him at risk of elimination.

Kevin Appleyard: {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Jack Sumner: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Appleyard needed some help to catch up to Sumner's aces, and the river blessed him with the {9-Spades} to give him a straight to win the pot.

Sumner shook his head in disgust as his chips were pushed to Appleyard for a double-up to 950,000 while he was left with 520,000.
