Donald Bishop Wins Seniors Event For $9,925

The RGPS St. Louis Road Trip kicked off Tuesday, September 26th with the first event at Hollywood Casino. A total of 272 entrants came out to play, creating a prizepool of $54,400 and ensuring that 34 players would be guaranteed a minimum of $405.

After one day of play, Donald Bishop won his first RGPS via a heads up chop. He and the runner up finisher Mary Sue Wiemelt made a deal where they both took an even amount. This is Bishop's biggest lifetime first place victory.

Action was picked up on the flop in a five way pot that included Dan Hamm in early position and Ron Cain on the button.

The flop came out A♥9♣8♥ and action checked to Hamm who bet 2,200 and a player in middle position called. Cain raised to 4,500 from the button which folded out both of the blinds and Hamm responded by raising to 9,000 which both the middle position player and Cain called.

On the 9♣ turn, action checked to Cain who moved all in for 18,500 effective. Hamm went into the tank before tossing his hand into the muck while the middle position player called to put himself at risk.

Ron Cain: A♦8♠

Cain had been counterfeited by the turn and Hamm stood up and shook his head saying he folded ace-jack. The river came the 8♣ and Cain filled up to scoop the pot.

"Now I feel better about my fold," said Hamm as he sat back down.

Weinberg Takes Down A Massive Pot

A player opened to 600 in first position which saw another player three bet 1,600 in middle position. In the small blind, Larry Weinberg four bet to 5,100 which saw the initial raiser move all in for 21,000, the middle position move all in for 23,400 and Weinberg called to keep everyone covered.
