The Final Flight Of The RGPS Main Event Closes Registration at 10:30 p.m.

Forrest Kollar

The first two flights of The RunGood Poker Series $600 Main Event saw a total of 477 players take their seats over the course of two flights. This smashes the $200,000 guarantee initially set on the prizepool and with registration open until 10:30 tonight, time will tell to see just how large this flight becomes.

Dawson Darbouze (560,000) leads the second flight of the tournament after being the prior flight's bubble boy. He and Forrest Kollar (518,000) became the only two from the second flight to bag over half a million chips. They join their cohorts like Shannon Hamblen (470,000), Carl Masters (395,000), Michael Sanders (359,000), Tiffany Keathley (281,000), WPT champion Mark Davis (240,000) and defending RPGS Tunica Main Event champion Kevin Broadway (202,000). Keathley, Broadway and Max Le (144,000) could join the elite group of players with two or more RGPS Main Event titles.

Matthew Higgins
Matthew Higgins

Matthew Higgins raised to 7,000 in the small blind and the big blind responded by raising to 16,000. Higgins moved all in for 60,000 effective and the big blind called to put herself at risk.

Big blind: AxKx
Matthew Higgins: AxQx

The big blind seemed set to double up, until the board ran out Qx2x2x2x6x to give Higgins twos full of queens as he took one player out.

The following hand the player in the cutoff raised to 6,000 which saw Matthew Higgins three bet to 16,000 on the button. He was met with a shove worth 100,000 and Higgins called with the covering stack.

Opponent: JxJx
Matthew Higgins: QxQx

The board ran out 9x9xKxQx3x and Higgins sent out a second player, just moments after knocking out the first.

A player on the button raised to 5,000 which saw both Jaymie Virtusio call in the small blind and the big blind called as well.

The flop peeled off QAK and everyone checked to the 6 turn where Virtusio bet 7,000 which saw only the button call.

On the 5 river, Virtusio bet once more, this time to the tune of 8,500 and her opponent quickly folded. Virtusio looked to build her stack back up again after running into a brutal cooler of aces vs. aces and losing in the last flight.
