Kivu Holds as Fireworks Erupt on the Flop

A player opened from under the gun and Alexis Kivu called on the button.

On the A♥10♥7♦ flop, the under the gun player continued before Kivu put in a raise to 21,000. The under the gun player then jammed for 55,000 and Kivu snapped it off.

Michael Carter opened to 3,500 from middle position and Dallas Whitaker called in the hijack. On the button, Damian Brewster three-bet to 12,500. With the action back on Carter, he four-bet shoved for 45,500. Whitaker got out of the way before Brewster put in the call.

"I had to get it in at some point," explained Carter as he awaited his fate.

The J♣5♠2♣ flop gave Carter more outs but the 8♦ turn offered no help as he stood up from his chair and began to walk away. However, the voodoo tricks seemed to work wonders as the A♦ peeled off on the river as Carter secured the full double.
