It took more than a level but the first players are eventually running out of chips. One of those benefitting from it was SurarinPoker, who had a short stack at risk preflop and then isolated on the 9♦2♣2♠ flop. He tabled the J♣J♦ and had little to fear versus 8♠6♣, locking up the knockout with the 2♥ turn and 5♦ river.
With the turn showing J♠6♦4♦3♠, the small blind checked and then called a bet of 3,100 by Andrew Tomoya in the cutoff. They checked the 9♣ on the river and Tomoya was shown 9♦5♦ for a missed double draw and rivered pair of nines. He had that beat with the A♥J♥ to win the pot.
In a preflop three-way all-in, two players were at risk with 2♠2♦ and A♣Q♥ while KENSHIN333 had them both covered and revealed the A♥K♠. The mighty ducks remained in the lead until the 8♥6♣3♦5♠ turn but KENSHIN333 rivered the K♦ to send two opponents to the rail.
With the board showing K♠10♦9♥7♣J♣ and more than 38,000 already in the middle, Haruto faced a shove and eventually called to get shown the A♥J♠ for just a pair of jacks. He had that beat with the K♥K♣ for a set of kings to earn the knockout and a big stack.
In three-way action to the 5♣5♠2♠ flop, the action checked to akira3 and he bet 2,100 to earn one call while Joe Stapleton folded and gave the following remark.
"I got a quote for your reporting. I couldn't be playing worse and I am the worst player at the table by far," he said and even suggested that it might cause an international incident if things were to get worse.
On the 4♥ turn, akira3 called a bet of 2,000 and then faced another bet of 6,500 on the 8♥ river. He opted for a raise to 25,000 and forced out his opponent.
Stapleton then four-bet jammed for 20,000 and was called by A♣K♥ to show his A♠K♠. There were no shenanigans on the 9♥8♥7♣4♦Q♥ runout and Stapleton chopped the pot.
Day 1a has been adding players every other minute and nearly mid-way through level three, the tournament clock shows a total of 240 entries. Some 220 players remain and they are currently at blinds of 200-400 with a 400 big blind ante. The next break will be after level four and the late registration is open until the start of level nine.
In a preflop all-in, papa was all-in and at risk with the A♦Q♦ and up against Yoshitaka, who flipped over the 10♠10♦. The Q♥8♥5♣7♥6♣ runout improved papa and dented the early big stack of Yoshitaka into more than half.
There were 2,000 out in front of mugimugi and his table neighbour then reraised to 6,000. Once it was back on him, mugimugi then moved all-in and his opponent called it off with the 2♥2♦. The mighty ducks were up against 10♥10♣ and mugimugi held on a board of Q♦7♦3♣J♣3♦.
