Triple Up for Sho

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

One of the very common first names in Japan is Sho and this particular player uses it as an game ID alias. They were at risk on a Q93 flop with QJ versus Q8 and J10. The 7 turn and 2 river were both blanks and Sho tripled up in the main pot.

Yoshida Eliminated by Chris Money kicker

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Yoshida was the first chip leader by some margin after getting a shove through in the second hand of the day but he just bowed out against the new chip leader with the apt alias of Chris Money kicker. In a battle of ace-rags, Yoshida was trailing with A7 against A9 and the QJ468 runout provided no help.

Junnosuke Taguchi
Junnosuke Taguchi

Junnosuke Taguchi had previously been involved in a three-way all-in where he missed an open-ended straight draw. He made up for the losses when knocking out a shorter stack as they got it in after the 652A turn. Taguchi's A6 were ahead of KK and that didn't change on the 8 river.

The singer-songwriter, actor, and mode is a former member of the Japanese idol group KAT-TUN and official JOPT partner.

Gooya Chips Up With Kings

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Armin Gooya
Armin Gooya

Armin Gooya has been living in Japan since 2016 and "wishes that poker was more of a thing here", though, the cash game player has jumped into Day 1c of this event earlier on. Just now, Gooya faced a min-raise to 1,600 and three-bet to 3,000 two seats over for four opponents to call. On the 982 flop, the initial raiser led for 2,500 and Gooya's raise to 10,000 was only called by them.

Both the A turn and 3 river were checked for the player under the gun to reveal 76 for the missed straight draw, which Gooya had beat holding KK.

There were nearly 50,000 chips in the middle by the time the dealer announced all-in and call on a completed board of J42Q6. kumajiro called all-in for the 22,900 he had behind and was good with Q7 for the turned top pair, as his opponent only had A2 for bottom pair.

YAGI_label Earns a Double

Ryuichiro

On the river of a Q92A6 board, the small blind pushed all-in for 12,000. YAGI_label in the big blind tank-called for 9,300 and was good with Q8, as his opponent only had K7 for a bluff.

YAGI_label then raised to 1,600 into the big blind of Ryuichiro, who also called a bet of 1,000 on the AK2 flop and 2,000 on the K turn. The J river was checked and YAGI_label tabled 102, Ryuichiro had that beat with the A3.

One hand later, Ryuichiro doubled the severe short stack of the previous all-in showdown to lose most of that profit.
