Kento Doubles Through CHENG

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

One of the players with the name Kento but not the one who bagged a big stack yesterday was all-in for 24,600 with 66 from middle position. CHENG had raised from under the gun and called with the 88.

The J65105 board delivered a six and Kento doubled with sixes full of fives.

WSOP Bracelet Winner's Attempted Murder and Maurice Hawkins a Debtor | PokerNews Podcast #888

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

In the 888th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway, Mike Holtz, and Kyna England talk about a WSOP gold bracelet while out on bail, who recently pleaded guilty to intent to commit murder against his wife. It's a sad tale, but the victim is now openly sharing her tale of survival and the horrific aftermath.

The crew then talks about Maurice Hawkins, who has yet to address the $100K+ judgment against him despite racking up wins and big paydays, and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the new poker room slated to open next month at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Other stories include the second-largest Bad Beat Jackpot in history being hit, recent tournament winners including Christian Harder and from the Irish Poker Open, and another edition of New Vlogs on the Block featuring JW Wilder’s Parody Poker.

Finally, given it's the 888th episode of the show, it only made sense to celebrate 888poker. As such, Chad sat down with 888poker Ambassador Nick Eastwood, who has established himself as one of the industry's premier content producers.

The Perfect Flop for Marinkuroki

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Marinkuroki
Marinkuroki

On a flop of 763, the big blind got his chips into the middle with 63 for the bottom two pair and was on very thin ice as initial raiser Marinkuroki tabled the 66. The 4 turn made a split pot possible but the 10 river failed to provide a miracle escape.

messun Earns a Knockout

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Only around 17,000 were in the middle to the A642 turn when messun in the big blind and the small blind clashed. The small blind was the at-risk player with A7 when they bet-called the shove of messun, who tabled 62 for a turned two pair. The river was the 8 and that earned the pot for messun.

Ryoga Under Pressure

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

John Swift and katuwo departed from the same table and Ryoga is also on the verge of elimination as well. Against a fellow short stack, he got it in with 109 on the KQ34 turn and was up against Q4 for two pair. No diamond but the 3 fell on the river and he plummeted to a mere five big blinds.

Hinako Joins the Big Stacks

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With some 15,000 to the middle on a KJ3 flop, the action was checked by HEROES and he faced a bet of 6,500 and a raise to 15,000 by Hinako, opting to fold while the third player in the hand called.

That led to the 5 turn on which it was checked to Hinako, she bet 30,000. A very reluctant check-shove for 52,200 followed and Hinako called with the Q10 for the straight and flush draw. She was up against AK and rivered her flush with the 6.

The tournament has reached a period where we basically have an all-in and call every other moment and one of them was surprisingly not announced by the dealer but the player at risk, sporting a black World Series of Poker shirt. They were all-in with the AQ and up against Takuto with the AK.

On a board of 63347, the kicker played and yet another hope of making it further vanished.

With around 131 players out of 406 entries remaining, the average has climbed above 92,000 in chips and Hinako is one of the chip leaders with nearly three times as many chips. In her most recent showdown, she flipped preflop with AQ versus 77 for an effective 22,000.

The 1094KJ runout provided the improvement the hard way with runner-runner straight.
