RGPS Council Bluffs $575 Main Event
Day 1a Started
The RunGood Poker Series continues "The Comeback Tour" this week, as the series has rolled into Horseshoe Council Bluffs for a series of events, culminating in this weekend's $575 Main Event with a $100,000 Guarantee. Day 1a is set to kick off at 7 p.m. local time, and a packed house is expected to hit the felt in search of a Day 2 bag.
Players begin with 20,000 in tournament chips, and blinds will kick off at 100/100. Blind levels are 30-minutes in length throughout all three Day 1 flights, and a 10-minute break will occur after Levels 4 and 8. Registration and unlimited re-entry are open until the beginning of Level 9 on all three flights, and play will come to a close at the conclusion of Level 12.
Players who are unable to find a bag in tonight's flight will have two more chances to advance, with a Noon flight and a 7 p.m. flight of the Main Event kicking off Saturday, June 25th. All players who manage to make Day 2 will return on Sunday, June 27th at Noon to play down to a champion, who will not only earn the top prize and the All-Stars Ring, but will earn a Pro-Am seat into the exclusive RGPS All-Stars Event taking place at the PokerGO Studios in Las Vegas, Nevada later this year.
Expected to be in attendance in today's Day 1a flight are an assortment of RunGood ambassadors and pros, such as Daniel Lowery, Ross Bybee, Emily Larson, and Steve Fredlund. Other local crushers we'll be looking for include Ryan Phan and Taylor Howard.
Day 1a gets underway shortly, and PokerNews will be on hand all weekend providing live coverage, along with photos courtesy of RGPS Photographer Joe Garrett. Stay tuned for all the action from Horseshoe Council Bluffs and the RunGood Poker Series!

After a brief delay to get the massive throng of players seated, cards are in the air for Day 1a of the RunGood Poker Series All Stars Horseshoe Council Bluffs $575 Main Event!
Phil Mader, who earned the nickname "Farmer" during his deep run in the 2013 WSOP Main Event, is looking to continue adding to his impressive $832,545 in lifetime tournament earnings here this weekend, and he's no stranger to success in the RunGood Poker Series.
Both of Mader's cashes on tour have been here at Horseshoe Council Bluffs, and both were final table performances. After a fifth-place finish in 2016's $1,100 Main Event, Mader came back for more in 2017's $555 Main Event. Mader was able to navigate a tough field all the way down to the final three places, where he, along with Greg Jennings and Mark Fink, negotiated a three-way deal to lock down a $21,918 payday.
Can Mader make it a three-peat and push through another tough field to make another RunGood Poker Series Final Table? We'll keep you updated on his progress as the day progresses.

A player in the cutoff had 2,300 in front of him, and was contemplating the four-bet to 6,600 from Tony Birney in early position.
"Aces?" the cutoff asked Birney. Without getting a response, the cutoff jammed and Birney quickly called off his 18,100 chip stack.
