The stakes have been ramped up for the second Sunday of the PokerStars 2020 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) with the SCOOP Edition of the Sunday High Roller in Event #44-H: $5,200 NLHE ready to begin at 1 p.m. ET.

A guaranteed prize pool of $1 million is featured in this event, which will take place over a two-day period, and with the stakes having been raised from last week’s $2,100 buy-in version of this same event, the accompanying prestige of winning is certain to follow suit.

Late registration is open for the first four hours and 45 minutes of play, closing sharply at 5:45 p.m. ET. Players are allowed up to two re-entries during the registration period should they become eliminated and wish to fire again.

This tournament’s structure features starting stacks of 250,000 and blinds beginning at 1,200/2,400 with an ante of 300. The first 18 levels will be 20 minutes in length, and they will increase to a half-hour at the beginning of Level 19, staying that way for the remainder of the event. Day 1 will continue until play reaches the money, at which point the tournament will be paused for the evening with players set to return for Day 2 on Monday at 1 p.m. ET.

Familiar names to the poker world such as Teun "tinnoemulder" Mulder, Mustapha "lasagnaaammm" Kanit, Artur "mararthur1" Martirosyan, and Jorryt "TheCleaner11" van Hoof" have already claimed SCOOP-H titles, and another will have the opportunity to add their name to that list when this two-day race concludes Monday evening.

PokerNews will be providing updates on all the high-stakes action that is about to unfold. Stick around and be sure to catch it all.

Anatoly "nl_profit" Filatov opened to 4,800 in the hijack and was three-bet to 24,000 by Francisco "Tomatee" Benitez, who was in the small blind. Filatov called and the two players saw the flop come {4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. Benitez made a continuation-bet of 35,300 and Filatov called.

The turn was {q-Spades}. Benitez continued with a second barrel of 50,650 and Filatov called once more, bringing the river {a-Spades}. Benitez checked and Filatov went all in for 140,000. Benitez made the call.

Filatov showed {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a pair of sevens, which proved to be no good to Benitez's {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Benitez found his call with a pair of queens to be correct and he earned the first knockout of the tournament, taking an early vault up the leader board as he now finds himself with over 545,000.

Holz Jumps Up the Leader Board

Level 2 : 1,400/2,800, 350 ante

Michael "Imluckbox" Addamo opened to 6,300 and was called by Sergi "srxakgirona" Reixach in the cutoff. Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz three-bet to 37,800 in the big blind and Addamo went into his time bank before four-betting to 80,000.

Reixach got out of the way and Holz then found action upon himself. He needed to activate his time bank before five-bet shoving his stack of 282,000 into the middle.

Addamo was then put to the test for the remainder of his chips, totaling about 15,000 less than Holz. He decided not to commit the last 186,000 and Holz took down the pot.
