Just under eight hours of action-filled play in Day 1 of the 2020 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) Event #97-H: $5,200 [6-Max, PLO Main Event 2nd Chance], $750K Gtd) saw 167 entries dwindle down to just 21 players finding their way to Day 2.

Leading the remaining players is Chun Lei "SamRostan" Zhou who won a huge pot in the last hand of the night bringing his chip total to 5,153,568 after he turned a staright leaving Joao "vovo_leo" Studart with complete dust.

The field was stacked with many recognizable pros throughout the day and many of them are still sitting near the top of the leaderboard.

Noah "Exclusive" Boeken finished the day in second place with a stack of 4,096,572 with Andrew "ClockWyze" Pantling coming in a close third holding 4,050,284. Next is Myrmo "locomi" Espen with 3,579,536 chips and Andras "probirs" Nemeth 3,492,980 rounds out the top five stacks.

Day 1 Action

The cards got in the air at 1:15 p.m. EST with around 20 players taking to the virtual felt. It took only a few Levels before the first elimination would occur as Niklas "Lena900" Astedt was forced to re-enter early on. With two re-entries available to those players that were eliminated, the bust-outs came at a frequent pace throughout the entire day, despite the deep structure.

Some other notable names to make it through to Day 2 include Jean-Francois "bmwmcoupe" Talbot (2,037,551), Andras "probirs" Nemeth (1,272,748), Konstantin "krakukra" Maslak (764,320), Joao "Naza114" Vieira (670,472), and Joao "vovo_leo" Studart (152,950).

The remaining 21 players will return for Day 2 action two spots away from the money and will play down until an eventual winner. The virtual cards will be in the air at 1:15 p.m. EST with action picking up on Level 21 with the blinds at 20,000/40,000.
