2024 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker
Espen "Hymn2Ninkasi" Jorstad, the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champion, is on course to become a 2024 PokerStars Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) champion. Jorstad is way out in front at the nine-handed final table of SCOOP 016-H: $10,300 NLHE Super Tuesday High Roller.
Jorstad has twice as many chips as any of the other eight finalists, but what a talented group the chasing pack is. Estonia's "DingeBrinker is Jorstad's closest rival and the only other player with more than one million chips at their disposal.
Others hoping to prevent a Jorstad victory are Adrian "Amadi_017" Mateos, Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson, Juan "Malaka$tyle" Pardo, Dinesh "NastyMinder" Alt, Pedro "pvigar" Garagnani, Artem "veeea" Vezhenkov, and Niklas "Lena900" Astedt.

The result of this event could have significant ramifications for the inaugural SCOOP League because Jorstad and Mattsson are part of Team Spragg, while Astedt is on Team Tonkaaaa.
Team Lex is now the SCOOP League team to catch after three of his team members navigated their way to the final table of SCOOP 09-H: $1,050 HORSE 6-Max. Although none of that talented trio walked away with the top honors, a runner-up, third-place, and sixth-place finish earned enough points to leapfrog Team Spraggy after Day 3 of the series.
Patrick "pads1161" Leonard narrowly missed out on capturing his eighth SCOOP title, losing heads-up to Renan "Internett93o" Bruschi heads-up. Bruschi's victory and continued fine form has propelled him to the overall number one spot in the PLayer of the Series.
Swede's "WhatifGod" finished third, adding yet more points to Team Lex's tally, while mixed game guru Benny "RunGodlike" Glaser busted in sixth for a very profitable day for Lex Veldhuis' tea,/

Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson became an eight-time SCOOP champion after coming out on top in the $10,300 No-Limit Hold'em Super Tuesday High Roller. Mattsson reached the final table third in chips, trailing chip leader Espen "Hymn2Ninkasi" Jorstad by almost three-to-1.
The final table saw superstars Niklas "Lena900" Astedt, three-time Sunday Million champion Artem "veeea" Vezhenkov, Pedro "pvigar" Garagnani, and Juan "Malaka$tyle" Pardo, but they fell short of the victory. As did Dinesh "NastyMinder" Alt, "DingeBrinker," and start-of-the-day chip leader Jorstad.
Mattsson then defeated Adrian "Amadi_017" Mateos heds-up to clinch his eighth SCOOP title and take his lifetime earnings past £34.7 million.

When you think of PokerStars players with multiple Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) titles, it is natural to think about the likes of Patrick "pads1161" Leonard, Ole "wizowizo" Schemion, and Niklas "Lena900" Astedt. But you should also add Andrey "Premove" Skvortsov to that list because on May 8, 2024, Skvortsov claimed the tenth SCOOP title of his career.
Skvortsov's tenth title ties him with Calvin "cal42688" Anderson and Benny "RunGodlike" Glaser, which is not bad company to keep. Winning ten SCOOPs is impressive in its own right, but many of Skvortsov's wins have come in tournaments with huge fields because he tends not to grind high-stakes events.
His latest win saw him outlast 3,198 opponents, but he outlasted them while playing the high-variance game of Pot-Limit Omaha. This will not be the last time you read about Skvortsov becoming a SCOOP champion; you can hold us to that.
