Day 1A of Event #5: $1,650 Deepest Stack No-Limit Hold'em of the 2019 Seminole Hard Rock May Deep Stack Poker Series, is in the books.

This first of three starting flights attracted 65 entries and after 14 levels of play, only 16 players remained. They will return to the tournament area for Day 2 on Sunday, March 26th at 12 p.m. EDT to continue to battle it out with the survivors from the other two flights.

Topping the counts on Day 1a was Brandon Duvdivani with an impressive stack of 401,000. Duvdivani quietly chipped up into the chip lead midway through the day and managed to keep it until the end of the night.

He is followed by defending champion Chris Bolek (350,000), who will be looking to go back-to-back. Aleksandr Shevelev rounds up the top three with 278,000 in the bag. Shevelev has over $400,000 in total live earnings including a victory at the Seminole Hard Rock.

Other notables still in contention include Scott Zakheim (235,000), Mitch Garshofsky (169,000), and Loni Harwood (120,000), just to name a few.

Some other big names who took a shot at the Day 1a flight but couldn’t find a bag were Brian Hastings, Ian O’Hara, and Chad Eveslage. They will have the option to play again in any of the two remaining flights, which will be held at Noon local time on Friday and Saturday respectively.
