Hello and welcome to PokerNews' coverage of the 2013 Seneca Niagara Fall Poker Classic! For the next five days we will be providing live tournament updates from the Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel, located within walking distance of the world famous Niagara Falls.

The Seneca Niagara Fall Poker Classic kicked off on Monday, Nov. 18 and features 14 events, highlighted by the $1,500 Re-Entry Main Event which begins on Saturday, Nov. 23. That event is expected to bring in many big names from all over the region and beyond.

While the Main Event is the big attraction of the series, there is plenty of tournament action leading up to it. Kicking off today at 11 a.m. ET is Event #7, a $500 no-limit hold'em re-entry tournament. This one-day event features a stacking stack of 25,000 with 40-minute levels, and tournament organizers told us they expect to get at least 100 runners. Registration and re-entry will be available until the end of level eight.

The action will kick off in about 20 minutes, so keep your browsers locked right here to PokerNews.com.

Shuffle Up and Deal!

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

Cards are in the air here at the hotel balcony of the Seneca Niagara Hotel and Casino! The clock currently reads 25 players registered for this event but we expect that number to increase greatly as play continues throughout the day.

Registration will remain open until the end of Level 8 and this event allows unlimited re-entires. Both of these factors could lead to an increase in prize pool size.

Two Early Eliminations

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

We just had our first two eliminations of the day take place within moments of each other. At one table, Carm De Ciantis was all in on the river with {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} on a {6-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs} board, but she had run into the full house of Leon Halat who was holding {9-Spades}{4-Hearts}. That removed De Ciantis from the tournament and increased Halat's stack to 34,000.

A minute later, Greg Nasso was eliminated at an adjacent table.

48 Entries and Climbing

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

"Where is everyone," we heard one player ask an hour ago when there were only four tables running. Well, it seems several players decided to take advantage of the late registration. The field size has increased to 48, and there are still six more levels for players to register or re-enter for this event.
