Summer Slam $50K Guaranteed champ Doug Cloud

The Seneca Poker Room introduced this six-flight tournament back in July and will be using the exact same format here in the Fall Poker Classic. We thought it would be interesting to look back at that tournament to give players an idea of how each flight played out.

The chip leader after Day 1 was Lam Ngo, who bagged 234,400 in chip on Day 1a. Ngo went on to finish in 25th place.

The eventual winner, Doug Cloud, also played on Day 1a and bagged an average stack of 66,000 in chips. He returned three days later and claimed all 11,355,000 in play.

Here's a look back at some of the Day 1 stats:

Mackiewicz Doubles

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

With around 7,000 already in the pot, two players checked to Kristan Mackiewicz on the button with the flop showing {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Mackiewicz moved all in for 12,675, and the player in the small blind quickly announced a call. The other player folded and the cards were turned up.

Mackiewicz: {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

Mackiewicz pleaded for black cards and the dealer obliged with the {4-Spades} turn and {J-Spades} river. She's now up to around 33,000.

Rasmussen Rolling

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

With the board showing {J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}, a player moved all in with the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} from the blinds and Paula Rasmussen called with the dominating {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}. Rasmussen's two pair held up through the {2-Clubs} turn and {7-Clubs} river and she is now sitting with double the starting stack.
